I heard that AA has selected 6-7 Envoy dispatchers from the pool for the February class. A couple of thoughts on this:
Would the dispatchers at PSA and Piedmont (the 2 other wholly owned regional subsidiaries of AA) feel like bastard step children if this is true?
Does management at PSA and Piedmont actively go out and promote their dispatchers to American mainline, and other mainline carriers? If not, why not?
Quote from the PSA website:
This is the start of a career you can be proud of from day one.
ROBERT ISOM, PRESIDENT OF AMERICAN AIRLINES
Really, Mr. Isom?
I know for a fact that there are some very qualified dispatchers at PSA, and assume there are at Piedmont as well. Why would American select only dispatchers from Envoy? They risk alienating the other two groups, and ultimately make it more difficult for those airlines to hire dispatchers who hope to be able to move on to the mainline carrier.
The dispatch group at both PSA and Piedmont directly affect the customer experience at American mainline, and have had a part in the success of AA. Shouldn't they be acknowledged for their efforts?
Mr. Isom - follow through on your words!
