Fatigue Selfies!

FWIW, as a FedEx pilot, I really don't mind if a pilot for one of the feeders wants to say they work for FedEx. We're on the same team, right?

Some regional guys are issued the mainline lanyards and supposedly that is the only approved kind. I know because I've got one like that. My employee id has the company name on it, but other than that - none of the issued wearable items have any reference to the "operated by".

If it's issued, that's one thing. But at least back in my day in the regionals it was Delta Connection/ASA or, if you aren't a weenie an ALPA lanyard.

I'd guess you are ok with it because they are doing flying that your seniority list never did. Kind of different when the guy is operating routes that were once ACTUALLY flown by the company that they are trying to slide by as.

But at least back in my day......

I’ve got no dog in this fight... but I catch myself using this phrase way too much myself.

No kidding. Was just having a conversation with my sister in law that we've known each other for 18 years. Friggin crazy. My dad used to tell me that I'll regret a bunch of stuff because time goes by a lot faster than you think. Adulthood has basically been realizing that he was right about most things.

I became an “old man” when I and another’s pilot threw out a Ghostbusters and an Indiana Jones reference and none of our crew chiefs got it except the ancient SSG who had to explain it to the 19 year olds.

That and this last rotation I got told by some smart ass “that’s that old man strength Sir” in the gym one day in Erbil....

Telling one of our younger CFR firefighters while on a contract "...when taking on scene command, you have to treat it like Steve McQueen when he said 'when there's a fire, I outrank everyone here', that's how you have to look at it, or all kinds of people will try to walk over your command...make sense?"

"I guess I understand. But, uh, who is Steve McQueen?"

Wait until you go to the hospital and they put a bright orange wristband on you that says Fall Risk on it. lol

I mean, yes we are on the same team, and I'm not complaining, but the red-headed step-child analogy proves true on regular basis!

I differentiate between the pilots that are just doing their job, just like I am, and the decisions of the corporate management. I save my angst for the latter, I harbor no ill will for someone who is just doing their job if they have not crossed a picket line.
