In-house Delta Job Fair, October 20/21 2017

Time I wanted was sold out with no way of choosing a new one without going back in line. Unless I missed something. Oh well hopefully I'll have better luck next time.

Oh give me a foxing break.

Got a time, probably least desired for most.. but I am super pumped. I had the wife unit helping who ended up getting the magic ticket, not sure how to get a spot without multiple devices going... I had two iphones an Ipad and computer working.

(For those trying to get one on the 11th I might recommend going for a slot at the afternoon to end of the day vs the beginning, I got really far in the process with an AM time slot but it sold out vs the end of the day.)

Insufficient inventory issue as well.. then waitlisted.
@Derg is it kosher to now try and register for day two even though I am on a waitlist? Or is that registering for multiple tickets?

Exact same thing happened to me. Its a major problem with their registration system. You can select a time slot and not go back to pick another one when it gives you an error code. Made it through twice with slots available and each time I got error messages. Now I'm stuck wait listed.

Went pretty straightforward for me. As soon as the screen popped up I entered in my name and email, I prioritized speed over name capitalization, so I'm sure -1 point for that. Picked the first time slot that my mouse pointer could get to, ended up with a 10:30 slot.

A little birdy says one job fair per 12 months is sufficient. They're trying to avoid the previous world of applicants killing themselves to attend all of them because of some sort of "points" system which they don't participate in.

What would a little birdy say about people who are going anyway despite having been to a career fair in the past 12 months?

Reading those comments, it sounds like the problem was that even though people got in the correct order, the time slots filled up un-evenly. This resulted in many getting error messages and having to re-enter and choose a different time slot, even time slots that showed available by the time they put the name down, it was already gone and got another error message. Then they were locked out and only option was the waiting list. The simplest way to do it would have been have just one system in which you sign up with your name and email. That's it, no time slots. Once the first 600 spots are secured, then open up 600 time slots and let the chips fall where they may.

You figure there would have been a facebook update for that! ha! :)

i see both sides. Showing your ass to the place you want to get hired at isn't the best idea. At the same time, I totally see their frustration with it.

With the massive amount of data mining industry-wide, if you're looking for a job, I'd heavily suggest quiet frustration. *footstomp* :)
