Ha! Oops, great catch! I misspoke.
No, the Mikes we sent over are escort ships. We're getting more UH60Ms to replace them here.
We have A/Ls with IMMSS kits for Medevac here, at least until we get brand spankin' factory new HHs to replace them later this year.
Sorry for causing the confusion.

I was only wondering because back in '11/'12 when my unit was over in Afghan when we were doing medevac also in support of the Army, there had been talk of arming the Army medevacs just like ours were, but having to get rid of the Red Cross in order for it to be legal. The Army was adamantly against that. For us, we were CSAR birds that just happened to be flying the medevac mission, hence we stayed armed. I thought maybe that change had finally occurred.

One of the accidents that happened in our AO when we were there was a medevac chase ship that crashed following spatial D by the crew after a dark night takeoff, fatal to all.

This is why I drag myself out of bed at 0500:

Tucson turned out to be far to brief a visit. I did, however, manage to get my Chi fully centered at the JW Marriott resort. Definitely recommend it for an overnight..
