daily pic

Is there a kit or service bulletin for that or did they just kind of have you make it happen?
Little of both. There is a stop bracket that can be ordered, but we didn't have time before the aircraft were going to be deployed, so we needed to fabricate them and drill holes in the arm/mount to match the stop bracket.
Our TIs found the technical drawings for the part and sent them to me. I made one bracket for each side and test fitted them before making more. They were spot on, so I made 10 for the left side and 10 for the right side.
It took me a few days to make them and drill out the arm/mount to match. Set-up was very time consuming and was pretty much most of the first day, but it was worth taking the extra time to do it right.

@modernicarus

The HH's don't have gun mounts ;)

These birds have been here for a few rotations. Sorry, I don't want to give out serial numbers. But they're Mooseknuckles, if that helps.

@Bear

They suck.
Yeah, we haven't received the HHs yet. It's gonna be a few more months. Right now we just have the UHs.
The ones we sent just arrived in theater a few weeks ago, so that's not one of ours.

Small world. I'm chatting with one of those LT's right now about life here and those specific birds hehe...

They suck.
The clean boots given to me for my return 45 years ago, what I was wearing were not respectable.

@ASpilot2be
We have 701D engines, which have an EDECU (not quite as fancy FADEC, but mostly) as for temps, I think they run close to 700*+. With wing tanks, (makes us heavy) I've seen us go into 30 minute temp limits during an out-of-ground effect hover.

I've used 5000'PA and 50*C calculations, and we still have hover power OGE. These engines are great.

If we were at higher elevations, we'd start to see NG and fuel flow limiting, not necessarily TGT limiting.

Thats impressive!

@Roger Roger
Yes and no.

While I understand the number I see in the display isn't the actual/physical temp of the Exhaust Gas (-99 bias), the DEC has some pretty important functions, with regards to tgt limiting. We have 4 tgt red lines, and a start redline.
