Skywest Questions

Apparently you're not allowed to sleep in there, per their terms of service. But I've seen people napping in there before

Definitely not overnight. At Colgan we had a dedicated nap room so at least during the day you could get some shut eye but the C5 room was a circus. "Well rested" was a real stretch sometimes.

We have a sleep room under C2, but it's gross and only has 2 chairs in it.
Oh, absolutely. When I started last year, I used to get a couple naps in on the AM/late PM standby shift. Now with the ERJ crews in base, it's packed all day, every day. Using the club more and more frequently.

Question for you 175 guys..

If you buy the year activation fee for Delta bennies, will they hold once you transfer to a base that is not Delta dedicated? I am LAX based, and am deciding whether or not it will be worth it to buy those bennies for myself and my wife. I have a bid in for PDX and it looks like I am within 10 spots of getting based there. Also, does anyone know if PDX will be adding more crews in the future? I heard they received a few extra planes but the base has been stagnant as far as growth since October.

They will pull your DL bennies as soon as you switch. Within 2 days of the new month in your non DL dedicated Domicile. Just had this happen. So I wouldn't pay the money to activate your fee. Speaking from experience.

Just do a chargeback on your credit card! Problem solved.

Yeah, you're not supposed to stay overnight there.

(this is largely a function of what FO/IF management in each domicile are like, I know ORD had a BIG problem with people doing it.)

Staying overnight where, sleep room?

Yeah, it's not meant for overnight use. There was a FA basically living in the sleep room last year, and would use the shower across the hall. The mechanics (office next to sleep room) had to turn the hot water off to get him out of there. Stayed a few months, from what I heard.

Correct.

MSP people: I live 8 min from the airport and have a full size sofa bed in my living room. Just call me. (Don't make it a permanent thing.)

You should see the AA snooze room in PHL. We have several FAs that have basically set up camp in there.

How much are junior reserve ER7 captains at ORD flying? Have things started to improve compared to last year where people weren't being called for months.

Looking at upgrade soon. Been on both airframes. Not picky on either.

I need to go see my "base admin" in ORD because I lost my charger for the EFB. Anyone know what a base admin is and how I contact them?

Advice for someone who is the newest on reserve still with 20 pilots on reserve ahead of him before you get to the 10 reserve lines?

I'm particularly curious of when I should pick up the phone from CS?
