Do any of you guys with the leather jacket also have the blazer? If I'm planning on taking one of the junior bases up north, sounds pretty imperative to get the leather.

Yes. In MSP today, the leather jacket+liner alone was insufficient. I've got a lot of northern flying coming up, and I'm going to try various combinations of blazer / overcoat / sweater / jacket to see what works best.

The blazer doesn't really do crap outside, even for me and I'm one of those guys that will break into a sweat in the terminal in the middle of winter.

The leather is pretty warm... but depending on how much you care, the fit is pretty atrocious if you're on the tall/skinnier side.

I kinda figured when I try it on that's what it will look like since I'm skinny...but I plan on taking MSP
 
Blazer is good for shoulder months. I finally gave in and got leather. I'm tired of carrying a huge trench coat that I only sometimes need.

Or you can be the FO I saw wearing a green coat while in uniform...[emoji849]

I guess that's a little worse than feeling like I'm going to be addressed as "Obergruppenfuhrer" since we have to wear the hat anytime we wear the trench coat.
 
OK so what kind of headset for the e-jet?

When will the company send a candidate study information for an e-jet class? Can a candidate start learning flows and company procedures now for a class mid January?

In order:

D/C pro X.

They will send you some CBTs in advance
of the class, but you won't want/need anything else.

No, but you won't need to. The curriculum isn't hard, and they'll step you through it. Know basic IFR stuff, and basic systems, and the rest is practically spoon-fed.

What kind of headset plug does the e-jet have? The 2 plug GA or the 6 pin Lemo?
 
What are your thoughts on the "loss of medical" insurance being offered at the first of the year?

Anyone planning to sign up?
