Skywest Questions

Studying like a madman right now. I've been trying to draw a Falcon 900C Electrical system, never had to do that for my type. But I'm getting it down. At least the basics anyway. Fingers crossed.

The good news is that I can practically guarantee you that whoever interviews you probably doesn't even know a Falcon 900 has three engines, much less anything about the electrical system.

Just know the basics of it (what inverters do, etc.). You'll be fine, I'm sure.

Hey all, long time lurker, first time poster. Looking for some feedback/advice on going to the CRJ vs ERJ. I don't have aircraft envy, but do want to make a better decision for me and my family. QOL, reserve times, future vase openings/closings etc... I live in PHX so the CRJ would be the only airplane in town, but how long would it take to get back here and how long would that life on reserve be? Would i be better trying to get a closer base ( DEN or LAX on the E jet? ) I read today that Inc is starting the process of removing a few of the 200s from EV and a few from OO. I see that the future is growing with the E jet, as there are many orders yet to be fulfilled. However, I still see a need for the CRJ and doubt they will go away for a long time. Sorry for the ramblings, need to decide so I can get a class date set up, and keep going back and forth on my pro cons, yet I realize that I need some insight from somebody who knows more than I do! Thank you guys so much!

The CRJ isn't going anywhere for a long time.

My groundschool buddy holds a line in PHX after 10 months. They fly 700s for American Airlines there.

You never know, but I don't see the 175 based in Phoenix anytime soon. I'd say take the CRJ, I like the AA 700 flying out of LA and would guess it is similar in Phoenix. Tucson is also an option on the CRJ, so there is that.

You also want to consider the date of hire issue, if they can offer you a CRJ class weeks ahead of the ERJ, take it, it could make a big difference, like maybe close to a hundred numbers. It may not seem like much in the picture of 4000 or so pilots, but it could mean getting to your preferred base, a line, or upgrading months, or more, earlier.

If the ERJ looks better in a year, you can always transition, but by then you'll have a line, in Phoenix, so, you may not be very motivated to do so.

Hey if you have to call in sick can you request that it doesn't come out of vacation/user time. I'd rather take the pay hit and save my vacation/user.

I just have the blazer. Got some snow on it last night. Might look at leather but might go with a custom one as they aren't much more and I feel a lot better.
