Skywest Questions

How feasible is it for you E175 folks to transition over to the Climb Restricted Jet?
I suppose pretty feasible after the seat lock is up. Not sure if the whole "company need" business would apply for ERJ to CRJ like it has been the other way around.

So much for that Summer block hour increase right? People say "oh you will wish for no flying when you are doing 90 hours a month" Well, if you have any plan of going to a major, not flying while sitting on reserve for a year puts a year delay on that. I don't have 4k hours and a major ready app. I need the TT, so its frustrating to see the block go down in the summer. Imagine what it will be like when the CRJ guys transition over. Seat lock is up in fall and I may just jump over to the CRJ
I am so glad I'm in training right now and not online. For May I was awarded 92 hours...I was only eligible to bid for 4 days since I was off to the school house.... I also had 60 hours of pre assignments. Do the math. I had 32 hours in FOUR DAYS!! A 3 day and a "local". That is waaaaaay more work than this dude wants. Lol.

I bid 23% I asked for those days off. NOPE lol. Reason report stated at my seniority min line value required was 91 hours. Which isn't bad but not when you only have 4 days of bid elegibleity....

You hit the nail on the be ad as to why pbs sucks. Preassignments.

I was staying here because I figured I'd get a line faster... But I'm on the verge of saying screw it and putting my bid in elsewhere. Right now I'm 1 away in PDX.

Just be aware of those transitions coming over. It looks enticing now, but may not in a few months. Food for thought.

Yeah, I've been thinking about that too, but I don't know if all the new Alaska 175 deliveries would make a difference.

2 year seat lock even those of us who didn't choose the aircraft. In process of trying to get out after 1 year. No luck so far.

Might be reading your post incorrectly, but it's a 2yr seat lock in equipment if you choose your type as a new hire. If assigned it's a 1yr lock.

Transitions incur a 1yr lock, unless you want to go back to your previous equipment, in which case it's a 2yr lock. That doesn't apply to you if you've been bypassed due to "company operational needs".

I'm still waiting my ERJ class date for ORD. They're telling us bypasses it could happen in August.

See you in what I'm dubbing "bypass class"
