Skywest Questions

I know this industry, especially the regional level is unpredictable. But is the CRJ flying in DEN or COS going to be disappearing in the future? I know no one knows but it seems like a shift is coming once again and I'm wondering about security of the domicile.

They will not... New hires will probably go there if they cannot fill it. Displaced? There are quite a few who want it.

I'm about to start Sims Sunday, wondering how this will affect me... I didn't really want to go to MSP anyhow, but Detroit...Not sure how I feel about that. Anybody based there? I have a place in NC until December, was looking to move in base somewhere, but not sure about Detroit. I don't own any handguns or anything. Gonna have to strap up.

Detroit is actually a cool town and has been in a renaissance of sorts over the past years. Michigan is actually quite a beautiful state too.

I wouldn't worry about needing to roll heavy, unless you want to of course.....[emoji5]

I'd be more worried about the tap water.

I wouldn't live anywhere that the city in the address is Detoilet, but that's just me. Western Wayne county isn't too bad and of course Ann Arbor is nice, but I'm not sure how affordable it is on first year FO pay.

@KSCessnaDriver you seem to be up to speed on DTW... Any crash pads around that way? How about crew rates on hotels?

No idea, don't pay much attention to that stuff, since I live in base. I know that some/most of the hotels just north of the airport have crew rates, seems like the Clarion and HoJo are the cheapest I've heard talked about. I know there are crash pads, but public transit around the airport area is limited.

There is a ton of movement on the CRJ. You should be awarded MSP shortly if you haven't already.

They said people can bid mid May. Dont hold me to it, but I believe people will bid for it. If it's the most junior base some people might get really good lines for not even being senior.

What base do you want? You said you live in NC so I'm assuming ORD?

Anyhow good luck in SIMs.

Thanks!

Yeah would prefer ORD until my lease is up, then will try to move to Utah. Sit reserve from the ski slopes this winter!

So with SKYW getting a DTW base, and rumors of an ATL base, what does this mean for XJT?

Feel free to ask our recruiting department directly through their official channels Max. Are you close to entering the circus that is Part 121?

Otherwise, no one really knows what any of this means. At best status quo and at worst - well, use your imagination.
