SeaPort Airlines.....

There is a dispatcher job listed on their website. Dispatcher preferred, not required.
Keep trying to get a hold of them. Knew two dispatchers who graduated from my program with aeronautical science degrees but also had dispatcher certificates and heard back in a few weeks. One just got hired about less than 2 weeks ago as I speak. They do need dispatchers...do you have a degree? Not sure why priority may have been given but maybe because it's because we're a 141 accredited school....

Or they just haven't gotten around to the resume yet.

Yes I do have a degree from Embry-Riddle. I have a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics degree, a Minor in Aviation Safety, Private Certificate w/ Instrument (235 hours total time) and ADX Certificate. I also used to fly on a KC-10A in the military as a crewmember and have over 1500 hours (non-rated) in that plane. I plan on flying on the side to get my Commercial certificate and Flight Instructor. It sure would be nice to know whether or not they were even interested in me. I did stop by their location just yesterday. I did not get to talk to their SOC or anyone else really for that matter. Thank you for your response. That may very well be a possibility that they just haven't gotten around to my resume yet. I hear the HR gal is quite busy.

So are you saying that you know someone who SeaPort just hired as a Dispatcher? Or some other operation? Also, my school was also a 141 accredited school. :)

I fly for SeaPort out of PDX, so I am in SOC quite frequently. I have seen a few new faces in dispatch recently, one even hopped on a turn to see what flying in a 208 is like. I looked back right after climb out and he was lights out nighty night. I believe they are starting another one next week. At what time did you stop by the office? They are pretty busy people, but I would say around 1000-1400 during the week would be the best time to stop in and introduce yourself.

I know two people. One just got hired about 2 months ago and the other less than 2 weeks ago. About the same credentials as you also...around 230 hours. You definitely have the upper hand with a Riddle degree than our small private college because yours is more known. I would probably assume yours just hasn't gotten around yet. I assume they're still hiring if my colleague just got hired this month.

Wow! Thank you JDean3204 for that reply! Its nice to know that when I stopped by yesterday that was probably not a bad idea. I must have sat in my car for about 15 minutes just determining if it was unprofessional or not and what I should say. It was around 3pm when I stopped by. They said the gentleman I would want to talk with had just left. A caravan had just taken off I noticed a few minutes prior, so I figured the dispatchers were pretty busy at the time. I spoke/introduced myself to Peter. It kind of bums me out that your passenger was fast asleep! I would LOVE a chance to hop on for a flight. Well, hopefully they haven't already made their decision and I still have a shot for a job. I think I will stop in again tomorrow around that time. Thanks again for the reply!

I applied and then I went in to the SOC and tried to speak with someone about my interest. Nobody was around so I just left. I figured I might hear something back from HR, but I never did. My application is still up on the website.

Ok let me know next time you want to come down and I will personally introduce you to the right people.

That sounds great! I actually work right across the road on Air Cargo way as a cargo agent (for the time being). Anytime would be great! (with enough notice ahead to change into something presentable!)

Ok let's set up something for next week. I might have to fly up to JNU Tues and Wed (@Acrofox ) but should be back in the office on Thursday. I'll check my schedule and hog tie the right people on Mon and let you know my contact info via PM.

Do you know how long it takes to get a reply after putting in an app? Applied a little over a month ago and haven't heard anything.

I got nothing. Not really sure how HR picks thier victims. I think it involves a dead chicken, a bonfire and some pixie dust.

But seriously no clue.
