SeaPort Airlines.....

I've flown on Seaport a few times. Crews seemed happy. The experience of flying with them was excellent! Easily the best airline flights I've ever experienced...

Nope, it never turned a profit, so now they are on the government handout program. With the exception of the AK ops, it's all EAS stuff now.

Everyone is forgetting one BIG thing.... The "Good Old Days" of pilot pay and QOL was before DEREGULATION! It was all EAS and Gov't handout before late 1970's! :aghast:

Gov't handouts were great back then no?.... EAS-Gov't handout is keeping SeaPort and other small airlines/135 Ops, and it's pilots, ground crew, and staff afloat right now. That's food on the table and Simillac for the baby.

What are their minimums generally for FOs? I'm guessing close to 1200TT so they can upgrade you fairly quick?

I don't believe SeaPort has any set miniums. In the last FO class most were in the 600 - 1000 hour range, but they have hired a few with less than 600 with past 135 dispatcher experience. As far as the next class, I've only heard rumors, but possibly this Fall.

EAS and government waste...

I once rode an EAS subsidised flight with another airline from a town in the middle of nowhere. They had four flights out that day, and I was one of seven passengers. There were seven TSA (operatives? agents? Let's go with 'thieves' on principle) to screen us. It took more than 30 minutes to screen all seven passengers. The worst thing is that the last flight was more than twelve hours later. So that means two shifts.

Complaining about government waste on EAS is just a drop in the ocean.

Gotcha. I will hopefully be in that range pretty soon. They have my résumé.

I just scheduled a interview with Seaport Airlines for next week and I am trying to find some more information about them. So far I haven't had much luck. So far I know its Part 135 scheduled ops and they fly PC12 and C208s, that’s about all I know so far. I would like to know whatever I can as far as pay scale, schedule, interviews, upgrade time, etc... Thanks!

You'll learn about that stuff in the interview. And when you do, remember that it's a snapshot only. It can change tomorrow. Better off finding out if they have a business plan that will ensure their survival past next Tuesday. From what I've read, they don't.

I just got off the phone with HR. They're hiring mostly FOs for the MEM base but they're also looking for a few captains. Starting pay is 20.59 per hour with a 70 hour guarantee. They're phasing out the Pilatus so going to that airplane will depend on company seniority. Im expecting an email within the next week or so about an interview sometime next month with a possible class date if all goes well in December. Hope this helps.

Caravans. At least 1 pc12 will remain for the Salina, KS flights. And yes, they've hired well below 600tt.

I don't want to be the debbie downer here, but their pay is atrocious. why not stick it out with a 135 feeder until you get picked up with a regional or fractional? I don't mean to step an anyone's toes here, but how can you live on $1441 / month?

Just curious, how is their pay on the Van? (Both seats)
Both airplanes pay the same. 20.61hr for FO's and 40 something for captains. There's a 70 hour guarantee, but there's quite a few lines that can push 100hrs. 135 scheduled allows us 120 a month.

Sounds like they're putting a class together soon. I'd thrown in a résumé a couple times more than a few months ago and they called the other day.
