Envoy (Eagle) Passes TA

Please point me to a press statement where "stabbing in the back" is used.......now if by that you meant voted to keep their jobs just like envoy did then carry on

PSA pilots didn't vote to keep their jobs. They exchanged pay/QOL items to secure a growth fleet plan and a flow program to US/AA. But common sense dictates that regional growth is pretty much done, so any planes one gets is MOST likely coming from another regional. In this case, Eagle/Envoy.

Oh ok...so when AAG told PSA they would shut them down they didnt mean it? The only meant it when they told it to envoy right? And not sure how PSA took pay concessions when their FOs for the most part are taking home more every month than pretty much everywhere else in the regionals.
 
I remind myself, frequently (like when I look in the mirror in the morning after getting out of the shower), that what I can control is what I see in the reflection.

That doesn't help a lot when you're in the back of a car that is being driven recklessly for no reason.

Seriously. Big picture wise, all these agreements are like giving a back alley BJ for a McDonalds hamburger when you could very easily wait for in and out/five guys to open. At some point you're doing it just because you like giving BJs.

Look at the industry as a whole. Things are getting better. There is movement like we have never seen. Even places parking planes haven't even uttered the word furlough. There is no reason for this.
 
Nothing to be "gained" by the regional sector of ALPA. Why waste time when most of the people here will be gone...Heard the "leave it better than you found it BS" before, and that is exactly what that rhetoric was.

Why step over dollars trying to reach for pennies? Simple economics. Regional jobs are low pay in a business with low margins. To make it worse it's shrinking. Mainline jobs are higher paying jobs for a high margin product. These jobs are expanding.

Say you own a smartphone store. You make $20 on each iPhone and $2 on each Samsung sold. Your demand for iPhones is increasing and demand for Samsungs decreasing. Where will you put money for your inventory and marketing needs?
 
No, you are not reading that right at all.

Under current contract we were slated to shrink to 68 E-145s in 2 years. 68 older, unprofitable aircraft AA no longer wants.

Under the new contract it is 40 E-175s plus the 68 E-145s plus the options on additional E-175s.

Perhaps I missed where it said guaranteed 68 145s.
 
What if I got junior manned and ran out of clean shirts, and thus, smell as a result of my misfortune or juniority? Are there exceptions for this?

Because by making the regionals cheaper you're making them a MORE viable business option for our management overlords.

At the risk of getting a knuckle sammich the next time I see her, one of T.'s more awesome attributes in my view is that she's very much one of the "dudes." I don't get fashion advice from her, but I can get damned good advice on just about anything else.

I'll actually be in DFW next week for the administration of said knuckle sammich.
 
I actually used to be really good at letting go of things I can't control. But now I'm starting to understand how the guys who have been at a regional for too long tend to kind of lose it.

While that may be the case, I'm going to tank up my very large 'regional' jet and fly it a very, very long way from now until something changes. It is an airplane that, all things considered, I would rather receive a United paycheck (even adjusted down to the 76 seat range) and benefits to match the United paint.

If you guys would put the E75, an airplane that has little business in the grubby hands of rehabilitated prop trash like me, on the mainline contract and certificate, that would be great. If I ran (large national pilots' union), my biggest priority would be scope recapture.

Are you sure thats not from you guys taking advantage of SAP and picking up CCP? I can't see this lasting forever eventually they won't be able to afford to pay such insane wages. It will be interesting as to the tactic they use to stop you from taking advantage of SAP.

I dont work there so I'm just going off what I've been told

I dont work there so I'm just going off what I've been told

Haha duly noted. I just know some guys there that thought they had it all figured out. They were making so much money and hardly flying until their number was called, and oops didn't fly enough to get their 1000 121 time so they are being skipped over for upgrades.
