Envoy (Eagle) Passes TA

Yep.

Are you insinuating that my lack of seniority makes my opinions worthless? I'm upset of the downward spiral of the career. this isn't about me.

I feel for those who have seniority and several years being hammered.
I'm just implying that these changes have had little to no effect on you. Not sure why you're upset about 7 year FO, they have made their own choices.

I can't help but think that at each legacy carrier there's a group of bean counters sitting around a table (likely mahogany) counting their money and laughing their arses off at us. Silly little sheep, stay in line and pad our profits. #regionallivesmatter

PSAers, Eaglevoys, brothers and sisters at other carriers, lateral movers, no and yes voters alike, we are all in this together. We make choices that are best for each of us as we see fit with the information we have. We are all a part of this and all are responsible for the choices we make and the consequences. It saddens me that as a profession (or even more, as humans) we revel in the struggles of others.

Pointing, laughing, blaming....both sides, just stop.
Merry Christmas, where's the Tylenol?

it was good to see a Positive words !!!! Regardless of what side the pilots of Envoy voted on they have their coworkers to thank or blame, depending on your viewpoint. While it was not 100%, it was good to see the turnout....

I've only skimmed this thread but...

Guys keep your heads up, there's more to flying than being an airline pilot. Corporate flying and government contract stuff often have better schedules and definitely better pay than regional FO by far. Being on call all the time sucks, but sitting around playing PS3 flying 8 days per month isn't a bad deal either.

Good Luck!

Fair enough. But I do agree with you, it's surprising to see concessions in the era of massive profits are the major carriers.

What's surprising? Supply and demand. Lot of regional carriers, with a demand for only a few. They'll undercut each other to survive.

Meanwhile at the major carriers, record hiring along with pay and benefits of those jobs increasing. One does not need to focus on digging for copper when there is a pot of gold down the road.

Stay positive, move up the food chain.

It isn't so easy to move up the food chain. I have 8 LORs on file at your airline have a good bit more TT than a lot of guys getting hired at your airline and have 20 years of Community service charity work. The same goes for United, hell I can't even get Allegiant to give me an interview. I love you man but let's be real, you hit the lottery. Their are a lot of guys just like you busting thier asses and but are still flying a RJ for pennies.

Just tap your heels together. It's so easy!

What happens at the bottom of the food chain has a direct, measurable impact upon your end of the food chain as well.

(Noticed a lot of EMB-175s with widgets lately? ;) )

I have a bunch of very well-qualified and rock-solid-aviator coworkers who would love to move on, but for one reason or another, can't get the nod; they fly solid, safe operations day in and day out, are remarkably pleasant human beings, but don't have the "magic" bullet.

That's the great part of the lottery! It can happen to you too (but not really).

Remember kids, trying is the first step toward failure. Honestly though this hiring stuff takes a while, you've gotta be patient and keep trying.

Find your inner puppy and keep it for a few years... then drown it in cocktails when you finally make it.

And this is why I keep coming back to the "work for a good place" thing. Goldilocks careers are an exception; you might as well work, if you can, for a place that will treat you reasonably well in the meantime.

Unfortunately this is a story I hear often. My hat is off to any guy banging it out 10+ years at a regional, doing a good job and keeping a good attitude about it. There's no rhyme or reason to a lot of this hiring. And it's sometimes a tough pill to swallow hearing people with significantly less time invested say "just hang in" when you've been hanging in twice as long as they have.

The Legacy hiring spree has only just hit the tip of the iceberg. You're doing all the right things. Keep being positive and your time will come. I guarantee it.

I qualify for food stamps, yet I should take a concession because my services aren't worth the poverty wages I get in the eyes of many.

Pretty much...

If the pilot group & others in the industry do not feel, think or have any concern about the regional pilots industry's worth or health.. Then so be it.
The regional industry is controlled by the majors, and they know which buttons to push (obviously we all believe and see th that we still have a huge supply of cheap SJS infected pilots' out there. Magic words such as "Flow" and "Short Reserve" and "2-3 years Captain Upgrade" and "Fly Bigger Jets" will bring the boys/girls to the yard to accept concessions (young dumb and naive boys/girls who believe the Gravy Train will keep flowing and their dreams for a major carrier job is within grabs in 3yrs maybe 4yrs max right!?. So who cares:sarcasm:! The whole Industry will still be doing great:cool: :sarcasm:!
