Do I? No clue. All it says is it's a bill for X amount. No explanation or breakdown. Feel free to call me a deadbeat. Perhaps you'd like to pay all the medical bills rolling in for the last several months. Like I said, they're at the end of the line behind those guys. Let's see, pay ALPA for, we'll not much IMHO, or pay the doctors to keep my wife alive. Yeah, man. I'm a deadbeat. How about you actually ponder people's life situations before insulting them? 'Cause you sound like an egotistical, union thug (edit).

Endeavour Alpa doesn't have a clue. They couldn't give me a good answer. If a percentage is taken out then that should be it. If what happened to you happened to me, they couldn't figure out a good answer. Shame on them.

Did you call Membership Services and ask them what it was for?

ALPA will be more than happy to setup a payment plan for you. Explain your situation, and they'll bend over backwards to help you out with extending the length of time to pay. But simply deciding that you're not going to pay is a different story.
 
Let's step away from the name calling, folks.

Here's the deal, it's a good discussion. And I've beat down some of you that are participating in this thread, in other threads. In fact, that person is handling being called names is handling it very commendably, but if I let this thread go all "UFC" with the name calling, it's going to be complete anarchy.

I don't recall seeing the word "Prick" in Dale Carnegie's book.
 
Here's the problem I see. A couple of the most caustic and prolific JC members bleed ALPA blood and have been union officials/representatives. Then, you got a guy at Jetblue who feels like he's being attacked at the site to the point he makes a very out of character comment. Unless I heard it wrong, Jetblue is about to have a ALPA vote. HELLO. It just amazes me that that the JC ALPA reps post at this site in the manner they do. The harm they are doing to their own cause. Can't they see that?

Don, I don't pander. If you don't pay what you owe, you're not going to get a pass just because a vote is going on.

While I agree that there delivery needs work they have and do a lot of good work for the collective good. I was an ALPA rep and think I did a very good job. There are countless others on here too that have done a lot of good through their respective unions or bargaining agents. Please don't view ALPA by what a few heated exchanges bring.
 
Keep in mind we're all speaking for ourselves and not our respective companies or organizations.

When I see Seggy and Amorris go at it, it's two people having a discussion, but I don't read that as an AlpaFight.

As I explained in a PM to Todd, ALPA repeatedly messed up my dues. I corrected it every year until the last year, when I was leaving anyway. I do not owe that money, though they think that I do. If they want to be hard-asses, fine, but I can cost them far more money in the long run. And I will, if pushed to that point.

It's not much money, certainly no more than $300, but I would feel the same if it were $1. (I think it was $175, but not sure.)
