Ameriflight

Thanks for the info. I'm in a bit of an odd situation, in that I'm committed to my job to a certain date, so I'm trying to figure out when to start putting things out there to move on.

They were really flexible with start dates. You just have to be okay with what ever base you are given.

I interviewed on Monday, knew right at the end that the assistant chief pilot was telling Sheri to send me to ground school. Sheri called the next day with the offer. It was a really simple process. I accepted the April 8th class, for Portland.
Saw my answer further down. SLC is a good base.

ROFL just saw one of our metros in an episode of CSI. I have time in this particular metro. Not me as the star though :(

You think that if they were going to edit the name out they would help at least make some of the dirt and grease go away. :p

EDIT: I'm beginning to think I am going to hate this episode.

Uh oh. Did someone get pushed into a moving prop? I say the crazy wife did it when she found out her beloved pilot husband, really wasn't joking about how little money he actually made!

Anyone know where guys are headed off to? Are they jumping ship for regionals or are most going into other 135/91?

Two of us just passed our SIC rides over here at Allegiant in the MD80, most of my friends in went to other 135 gigs for bumps in pay and QOL; only a handful went to regionals.

If I make it through the second interview Friday it sounds like I will be headed west. Ameriflight seems like one of the best options to get my multi turbine experience to move onto more single pilot ops like EMS and 135 passenger. It sounds like the QOL is the same as the other brown box carriers.

It is an excellent wait to get into 135 pax ops. AMF is a good move for the right person for sure. I am sure there are people that regret it but I don't.

Congrats on that!

I know a few have gone to XO, I heard one went to JetBlue as well. A bunch of guys have been going to 135 pax operations including myself.

While nothing limits you from going to JetBlue from AMF, the guy who *did* go to JetBlue had a different situation than most of us young freight dawgs. He was laid off from Midwest airlines when Republic bought them and became an assistant chief pilot at AMF until the majors started hiring again.

Pretty sure a Bro captain also got on at JetBlue. Believe she was flying out of SJU.

There's more than just one person who has done it. Its more about networking than anything in many cases.
