Those are pretty much the same...maybe 1-3% increaseThanks for explaining it. I'm also guessing that the starting pay wasn't 22/hr a couple years ago.
I know it's splitting hairs, but I'm in a place where I'm trying to figure out a budget that seems somewhat plausible to live as a first year F/O. Thanks for the honest replies.
It can happen... My sim partner went to the jet after a year, I waited on the Bro for the upgrade. Once hired you maintain your hire date seniority. How realistic is it to switch to the CRJ if you get hired into the Brasilia? Do you lose your seniority if you switch to a different plane than you were hired into?

23k the second year!... i thought it would be more for some reason.... Thanks for sharing the info, it really is helpful
Ok, one question, could you have made more if you wanted to?
Lee pretty much hit it all on the head, and you'll notice his reference to fo's who had good attitudes didn't include me.![]()

Kind of changing the subject here, but Ive got some questions that you guys can probably answer for me. Is it set in stone that all new hires start in the Brasilia or is there any chance for an RJ right out of training. Secondly, are there specific new hire bases, or is that all just luck of the draw. I know that the pay sucks and the QOL does too, so dont bother telling me about all that. Im just trying to decide between Eagle and Skywest and weighing the pros and cons. I like the domiciles that skywest has to offer, but i know 2 guys who just went thru training at eagle and one got the erj and the other got the crj. Just wondering what the odds are of getting into the rj either in den or cos. Maybe Im dreaming, let me know.
So, is that typical, the switcheroo you were talking about? Also, how does the seniority work for the new hire class at skywest? I heard from some guys at eagle that the way they do it is the oldest guy in the class has the most seniority and it goes down the line, oldest to youngest. Is that the industry standard? In was hired into the jet, then asked if I would go into the Bro on the first day of class...bases are assigned by seniority in class at the end of ground school.(pick three get the best available)
Not common to the best of my knowledge, seniority by SSNSo, is that typical, the switcheroo you were talking about? Also, how does the seniority work for the new hire class at skywest? True, I started new hire ground on JAN 7 not Jan 1 so a week difference, finished IOE in time to bid for March, had a line in FAT for March, April,May, June then went to perma reserve in SLC for the rest of 08 all of 09 and 10 months of 2010. My W2 from first year shows 17,405.38 second year 23,704.38 and last year 26,421.82 big money, livin the dream, tfayd, any questions?
I believe we have reached the end of the list of EMB FO's willing to transfer to "anywhere" ie. IAH, MSP and so new hire's are now being awarded the RJ.
Most likely bases for that would be ORD and IAH?
Most likely bases for that would be ORD and IAH?
So is it pretty safe to assume that a new-hire would have a snowballs chance in hell at getting Denver or Colorado Springs?
Better than at the end of a shovel. Where have you heard that?
Tell Rick hi for me!
Yeah, what I heard is that there will be no other bases awarded to either new hires or transfers/transitions until IAH and MSP are fully staffed. Just what I heard from a non official source.
