SkyWest Hiring FOs

I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about as I do not know much about the regional world but...perhaps overqualified?

Nah. There were guys with more time than that at my SW interview. I'd say the average was about that. Most had there ATP too.

Who knows... Might've been that suspended license though.

I gotta say, I'm a little bummed.

They called me to apply via airlineapps.
Then they called me and said they would evaluate it and get back to me in about a week.
They got back to me today and said I wasn't "selected for the First Officer position"

With over 3000TT, 300ME, and 100 instrument, I'm bewildered as to why they didn't accept me. I even included a handful of current SKW references.
The one thing that may stick out is a suspended drivers license for an unpaid, minor infraction... Maybe it's a small deal to me and a big deal to them.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

No idea either but what is your recency of experience?

sorry to hear that, I'm guessing like you said the suspended drivers license. it might not be a biggy for us but they look at it differently... did you have same look on your face as larry david??

Well, I fly about 20 hours a month, so I doubt it's my recency experience.... and yeah, pretty much, I looked just like my avatar, haha.. Larry David is the man.

Oh well, I guess it wasn't meant to be...

Totally read that last line in the Larry David voice in my head LOL.

Do they want you to apply using their website, AirlineApps, or both?

I'm assuming its AirlineApps. I haven't updated my AirlineApps in ages, but they called me today for an interview, but since I work for ASA I'm not going to make the jump.

My boss got a call from someone on Tuesday asking about me and I have still yet to hear anything. Anybody know how long it might take and what to make of it?

How long for what? The interview or an offer? They aren't going to call your boss if you haven't had an interview.

well I haven't had an interview and they have called my boss. I was wondering how long to hear from them to schedule an interview.

ok, I know this question has been asked before about other companies, but in regard to Skywest I want to ask again. I did not pass my Commercial or MEI, which was the initial, on the first try and I wonder if that would make a difference with Skywest.

Another would be how long it took for you who applied and heard back from the hiring department? Was it weeks or months?

I don't know enough about them to answer your first question, but it took about 3 weeks for me to hear from them about an interview. That was with two pretty strong internal recs.

Piedmont called for an interview but I still want Skywest or a couple of others. Is it bad that I want to be picky with jobs, even if the pay differs?

Oh well, off to fly in the sand and wind!

No.

Be picky. Especially between the choices it looks like you have.

I read read on another site that they are hiring close to 500 this year. Does anyone know if this is true?

Don't know where that number came from but like TG said, could very well be true. Memo sent out said 50 a month with no end date.
