Hiring tracking (opposite of furlough tracking)

I'm looking at it now and I'm a bit confused. On the actual job listing here, it still lists the 1500/5 mins.

Their posted mins are not really set in stone. I was hired with well under the 1500 back when that is what they were showing. They are really looking for highly motivated pilots with good attitudes...not necessarily a ton of experience.

As of today (9/18) I count nine airlines hiring... ASA, Colgan, Skywest, Commutair, American Eagle, Delta, Air Wisconsin, Pinnacle, Cape Air. Thats a decent size crack in the wall. :D

And Great lakes. I got a call from them the other day to go interview.. And Virgin America.

Got a call from both on the same day? Thats pretty sweet. LOVE your avatar by the way.

Thanks man , yeah TWA was awesome. I only got a call from great lakes. My dads a captain over at virgin and he's just been telling me about the hiring going on over there.

Is he a old TWA guy? Had lots of family work there.

From a reliable source yesterday... If things continue they way they are now for the next months Spirit plans on hiring 70 starting Q1 2011, minimums are being changed to 3000TT with 1000 turbine (preferred) 200 Multi (absolute minimum).:rawk:

Guys here at 9E that were in Phase II at jetBlue got calls for an Oct 6th class date. AFAIK, those were guys that were interviewed on the last interview date. By my count, if everyone made it through Phase II, then there's not a whole lot (if any) left in the pool. Rumot is 200-250 more new hires in 2011. 'Course that may just be wishful thining on my part, too. :)

Word on the street at NK is more recalls in a few weeks to exhaust the list effective 1/1. Hiring to begin in early 2011. Looking at 4000 TT mins--don't know the specifics.

Of the majors/legacies, who do you think will hire next?

In the interest of narrowing the list let's only consider those airlines with maximum Captain pay in excess of $150,000 per year. According to the Pro Pilot salary survey that would include:

  • Alaska
  • American
  • Continental
  • FedEx
  • Southwest
  • United
  • UPS
Does not include overrides, overtime, special credits, per diem, etc.

  1. Notable exceptions due to max pay below $150,000: AirTran, JetBlue, US Airways
  2. Delta excluded due to current hiring status

I just asked a friend of mine (SWA CA, for what it's worth) if they were still fat on pilots. that was the case earlier in the year. He said they had been told that even with the airtran acquisition they WOULD be hiring 200 new pilots!
