This is not a knock on your character, but the fact is you did not have the persistence to make it in aviation.
Not saying you don't have an ability to be successful in this or any other field, you just didn't consider it important enough to demonstrate the commitment level it may require in this field.
Exactly.
Bumblebee's logic seems to carry with it a sense of disdain towards those who decided to "quit," which I find slightly arrogant, regardless of how much HE has accomplished in aviation.
I want you to find me a single place where I was arrogant, or dismissive of someone who decided that the potential in aviation was not worth the effort to persist until successful. Matter of fact in two posts I clearly made an effort to point out that that the act of deciding that aviation was not worth the persistence required was not a slam on your (or anyones) character. Any disdain you perceive is your own projection.
I don't know how much money you need to be comfortable, or to feel that your are being compensated for your value in aviation, but I feel that I am now well compensated for my time. Which was the original point of my post.
There are many here who feel that they are well compensated for their time in aviation as well, so money in aviation in fact, does exist...that was my original point. My point was made in the positive light over the cynics who tend to spread the bad news.
Persistence will get most people to their goals in aviation as well as other fields. If you quit, then you are not persistent, if you think you are persistent after you quit, then you are fooling yourself, not me.
You who do not believe that it is possible to make a good living as a pilot are welcome to your opinion, but you shouldn't get up in arms when someone who does believe (and can prove for that matter) that it is possible to have a good career, and be well compensated being a pilot states his truth.
We are here to inspire and show a pathway for people who want to make a career as pilots. I am glad you who decided this is not the way have found happiness in your current endeavors, truly, but you did not make it, so you do not know the path to a successful career. I intend to make sure that those who still have dreams of flying know that it is still possible, if it is what they really want and are......... persistent.
