The way I see it... There are plenty of people that would love to have that spot. Yeah it would be nice to have a streamlined system but it's not. That person needs to go through this forum and see the amount of people just on here that would love to have the spot. Who the hell knows how many hopeful applicants are outside of the forums! I don't blame the government. S*it happens and there are plenty of people who can probably do the job better off the street with less complaining. My $.02 :)

I definitely agree :)

Main reason for posting the link was to show that those of us on the forums are not the only ones who have had to deal with a system full of delays and setbacks. It's been happening for years and will continue to be that way.

I got you there! But you have to also remember that the FAA makes mistakes too! Almost every correspondence I have gotten from them has had errors in it. For example my PEPC confirmation said I was confirmed for the New York PEPC for Tuesday February 25th. Yeah, too bad the 25th was a Wednesday. I had to call my HR rep to confirm, and go figure, I was scheduled for Tuesday the 24th!

I know that nobody's perfct and I'm not trying to put the FAA down here, but with as many e-mails that they are sending, there's bound to be errors. I can see where these PUBNAT5/6ers are getting confused!

Hi Princess, I do know exactly what they meant but I was just being funny..lol I remember when the selection e-mails started to go out and there were a number of applicants which received wrong e-mails!! It has to be nerve racking to get an offer that really isn't yours and to later find out it was a mistake! Talking about error, that just cut the cake!
 
Just got an email for a second PEPC in Atlanta, GA. Seems like it's geared towards those people who went the traditional route but haven't had success finishing everything yet.

Our records reflect that you are being considered for an Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) position with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In addition, it appears that you are in one of 2 categories:

1. Waiting to be scheduled for an interview and processed through the Traditional Process; or
2. Have already been interviewed and waiting for your Tentative Offer Letter which will provide you information regarding the Traditional Pre-Employment Process.

In order to provide you every opportunity to continue through the entire pre-employment process expeditiously, FAA has made the decision to hold a Pre-Employment Processing Center (PEPC) the week of August 3, 2009 in Atlanta, GA. EnRoute candidates will be processed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of that week and Terminal candidates will be processed on Thursday and Friday. NOTE: ALL TRAVEL COSTS ARE AT YOUR EXPENSE.

If you are interested in attending the PEPC to complete your interview and pre-employment process OR if you need to complete just the pre-employment process, please respond to this email by Friday, July 10th since August 3, 2009 is fast approaching. In your email tell us the day of the week that will work best for you. Interviews/pre-employment processing will begin at 8am each day.

We will do our best to honor your preferences and schedule an appointment for you based on your individual situation. You will receive a response by return email. You will also be provided forms and further instructions at that time. DO NOT CALL AS THAT DELAYS THE ENTIRE PROCESS.

If you are not interested in participating in this PEPC, please respond by email by Friday, July 10th and you will continue in the Traditional process.

I'm not sure why I got it, seeing as I don't fall into either of the categories they have listed. I attended the PEPC last month and received a TOL.

that is interesting, sending out emails to the wrong people again. I do fall into those categories, but I don't know if I would want to go to the PEPC at this point, and I haven't gotten an email yet. I also know that it probably means getting everything done faster. August is a long way off and Atlanta is a long way to travel just to take a psych exam and get a physical.
 
I feel a "Waiting for FOL from 5/6 Traditional Route" coming on. It wants to be born. Perhaps as more 5/6 traditional routers complete their pre-employment processing.
 
Nothing wrong with this thread IMO, it seems a lot less people were picked for these pubnats than other pubnats, and a whole new thread doesn't seem necessary.

I also received the PEPC email today for Atlanta, GA. I replied that I want to go on August 3rd... Waiting on the reply email... Woohoo!
 
Did your husband get one? I really don't know if it is going to be worth it, although one of my best friends lives in Fayetteville, NC so I could stop there for the weekend, that would be cool, but it would also be even more of a hindrance in my search for gainful employment.
 
PS, have you guys gotten any paperwork or your TOL yet? I haven't yet, and you were there just a few days before I was.

My husband got the paperwork last week. I think he mailed everything off and faxed everything today. I have not because there were issues with my married name vs. maiden name. I just got it all straightened out on Friday, so I am going to take the PEPC route to speed things up. I would imagine, since you are at the same stage I am, that you will get the PEPC email too.
