Pubnat 5/6

Yeah, if you don't have any hair on your body when the nurse goes to rip the little sensors off of you. The lady who took mine off ripped against the grain and took a nice little sample of my chest hair with her... Talk about pain!

Good point. I shave my chest. My nurse told me that was good because she's "seen grown men cry."

So is everyone's HR rep (and their backup) on vacation too, or is it just me? I called her number and got a message saying to call another rep, but her message said she was out of town too... normal FAA procedure??

Idk, I can only say that I know C.S. is out of town til July 13th. But as for eveyone else, it is a holiday weekend. I would expect a lot of people to be taking vacation time this week, especially those who went to the PEPC. But good luck on getting ahold of them.

I am not paying a couple hundred bucks to go to ATL for a physical and psych exam for the Aug PEPC. It's not like doing that's going to get me to OKC any faster.

I had a long talk with the training manager at my future facility today, and he said that things will get processed faster at the PEPC, not to mention that the FAA has a habit of letting things sit on a desk forever (or just losing them). I'm not looking forward to dropping cash on the ticket, but if it'll knock that out of the way, fine with me. Last thing I want is for people to start getting Academy dates while I'm being held back because somebody lost my physical results. Isn't that uncommon, unfortunately.

Ah common Rossta.. That's not what I wanna hear. Makes my decision harder.
Was it S.F. you talked to about the PEPC? I know he's a big believer.

So has anyone who received Atlanta invites accepted their invite yet, and have they heard back from their rep? I emailed my rep after business hours on Wednesday and still have not heard back.

To maybe save me some trouble of going back a month and a half in this thread, how long did it take to hear back when the Chicago invites went out?

The email specifically said not to call, and I imagine they either have off today or will have off on Monday, but if I don't hear anything near the end of the day on Tuesday, I think I will call anyway.

Yeah. Already like that guy.

It'd give me second thoughts to have to fly across the entire country instead of half of it to get there, though. Really, the advantage isn't huge. I'm mostly doing it because I don't want to worry about having anything lost, and while there are plenty of stories of them screwing stuff up, the majority of people seem to get through it okay.

I doubt that doing a PEPC will get you to the Academy any sooner. October's the earliest, and there's no reason to believe (or disbelieve, I suppose) that getting your paperwork done gets you in line sooner.

But hey, last person out of the JC-SM group headed to ZSE to get an Academy date gets free drinks once they get to Washington. Deal?

This was how my Chicago PEPC emails went:

Got the email 2ish on Tuesday, replied back around 4. Got return email around 5 on Wednesday to confirm PEPC date. Hope you get yours soon! :)

Thanks! the way I see it, it is entirely possible that she only had one day to work on it, and with all these reps on vacation she may have more work than usual to do. I'll give it some more time.

I was wondering the same thing. Any thoughts? My guess is that it can't hurt.
If you have signed your TOL, there's no point in applying again. You've got your spot in line. You're just waiting on your clearances and FOL.

If you have signed your TOL do NOT apply for PUBNAT 8.

:yeahthat:

Honestly, I don't think I could handle starting over again if my TOL, for whatever reason, fell through.

Every needless applicant slows the process down...

...I'm not exaggerating...this is why they are switching to only having PUBNATs every 6 months
