Pubnat 5/6

Well like someone else said maybe they are sending out the emails to people with specific PEPC locations. Good luck, hopefully since you haven't seen any LAs it means those emails haven't gone out yet.

I'm leaving myself some hope too.

I havent seen any Terminal positions for California (just ARTCC) or any positions go out to Nevada either. However, someone got ANOTHER offer for Hawaii?

This is all too weird i tell ya!

Good luck, Bigey. Although I didn't post much back in the Pubnat3/4 threads, I was there for the ride as it went from elation that e-mails were coming to bitter disappointment that I didn't get one. I really do hope you get one this time. :rawk:

I JUST GOT PICKED UP FOR CALIFORNIA!!!!!

Congratulations! You have been chosen for further consideration for an Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) position at the Los Angeles Air Route Traffic Control Center in Palmdale,, California . This notification supersedes any previous email you have received dated 05-19-2009.

Hey, I was wondering if I was going to have any JC company in ZLA. Congrats to us both. And Amen to living in Acton, whoever said that.

Thanks bro! Appreciate it! Are you back in the process too?

EDIT: Just realized you got picked up for a place! Congrats bro! Now, i need to get one, and then you can have a double "adult frosty beverage" one for me, and for you! :rawk:

So before i jump of the Empire State Building....... No NYC PEPC invites have been sent right??? Its my only hope:(

I think I saw a few NY selections between here and SM. But this has to be some new way of sending out the notifications. I dont think I have seen anything for OH, PA, either carolina, KY (the state not the jelly)or a few other states.

like I was saying above this is only for on pepc location from what everyone is getting in their emails. My best bet would be later on they will send out another batch for a different location.

Who knows though I can just say to not give up hope because this will be about a 2 week long process as it starts to slow down with the emails. unless they are completely changing things up then who knows what to expect.

I learned from a Terminal guy in Houston over on the "other" forum that ZHU checkout time is 18 months. They are one of only 3 ARTCC's that do this, apparently, it's a new training program being tested by the FAA. I could be wrong, but the guy works I90. Who knows. As far as washout rate goes....i haven't the foggiest idea.

Stupid question here, but I also got the e-mail for ZHU today...what's this checkout time you're referring to? Time from beginning of training to certification??

I believe ZAU is on the same training program. I've heard they've had some people check out in close to one year...from the sound of it it wasn't even 18 months, shorter than that. Which is great since I'll be headed there. While I heard checking out isn't a cake walk at ZAU, that they've had plenty of OTS candidates succesfully finish training there. The people there said it has more to do with your desire than any particular 'skills' you might have.

Chicago TRACON on the other hand is apparently a different story. Someone who works there said they have NEVER had an OTS candidate check out there. So I'm happy to be headed to ZAU.

As far as washout rate for ARTCCs I think it really depends on the facility. I've got a friend at ZLC, and he said it's almost impossible to not check out there. They've only hand a handful of people not make it in the 5 years he's been there. I'm sure it varies at other centers though. It is a level 10, but they still see a fair amount of traffic.

I know, we applied to Cook/DuPage county Illinois in every app and applied to Hawaii and wasn't chosen until this time...what could have changed between then and now. NOT THAT I'M COMPLAINING!! :p

My husband is the one who actually got chosen, I am just addicted to the board. Anyway, this just made him all excited to go there, he says he wishes he was going to the TRACON just so he could be the 1st one OTS to do it. I, on the other hand, am glad he's going somewhere with a greater success rate!! =) Thanks for the info. I'm really glad you're going to the same place, that way we can get some good "inside knowledge". HAHA!

btw, my husband has 1 year & 7 months till the big 3-0... :)

Congrats! Great to know someone else will be going to ZLA...eventually :)

Are you going to move to Acton? I'm actually still debating on commuting once everything is said and done.

I wonder what their program is like there. What the rate of getting qualified is...

I'm pullin for you Bigey. Try not to crash your email server with the f5 key tomorrow. Good Luck man!
