Point taken...but I thought that's why they have "sick/vacation" days. I mean, I don't like working on Saturdays or Sundays, so why should they?? Oh, and they do have another option, it's just the non-PEPC route...not a weekend PEPC option.
Generally taking a vacation day wouldn't be a big deal, but I happen to work I job where we are gearing up now for our busy season, and my job is to train new employees over a 3 week span, and we'll be dealing with at least 4 groups of people. When I'm gone, it really throws a monkey wrench into the system for a little bit.
And given that I was talking about a weekend PEPC option, a non PEPC option isn't really another option (and given how horribly the non-PEPC option works, it's not really much of an option for anybody).
And why should they come in and work on a weekend? Because the type of people they are looking for may only be able to make it on a weekend for such a thing, or otherwise face the aforementioned horrible non-PEPC option. Do you really think it would be such a huge trade off for them to have just one weekend day in every group of PEPCs in order to get that many more qualified people moving through the system as quickly as possible?
But note that nowhere in any of that did I state that I wouldn't be amazingly thrilled to get a TOL and PEPC invite. I'll take off a week of work if I have too because I want this job that badly. But just because I would be thrilled doesn't mean I'm unable to spot flaws in their system, or at least potential areas for improvement. So unless somebody wants to try and make the argument that having weekend options for the PEPC would actually hurt the system from the standpoint of an applicant, then I really don't see why there is any debate on this issue.
