Point taken...but I thought that's why they have "sick/vacation" days. I mean, I don't like working on Saturdays or Sundays, so why should they?? Oh, and they do have another option, it's just the non-PEPC route...not a weekend PEPC option.

Generally taking a vacation day wouldn't be a big deal, but I happen to work I job where we are gearing up now for our busy season, and my job is to train new employees over a 3 week span, and we'll be dealing with at least 4 groups of people. When I'm gone, it really throws a monkey wrench into the system for a little bit.

And given that I was talking about a weekend PEPC option, a non PEPC option isn't really another option (and given how horribly the non-PEPC option works, it's not really much of an option for anybody).

And why should they come in and work on a weekend? Because the type of people they are looking for may only be able to make it on a weekend for such a thing, or otherwise face the aforementioned horrible non-PEPC option. Do you really think it would be such a huge trade off for them to have just one weekend day in every group of PEPCs in order to get that many more qualified people moving through the system as quickly as possible?

But note that nowhere in any of that did I state that I wouldn't be amazingly thrilled to get a TOL and PEPC invite. I'll take off a week of work if I have too because I want this job that badly. But just because I would be thrilled doesn't mean I'm unable to spot flaws in their system, or at least potential areas for improvement. So unless somebody wants to try and make the argument that having weekend options for the PEPC would actually hurt the system from the standpoint of an applicant, then I really don't see why there is any debate on this issue.

It'd be nice if they had a PEPC on a weekend for people who still hold jobs during the week. The FAA wants people with work experience and education, which usually means somebody who’s in their mid to late 20's at least and has a job. Yet they seem to go out of their way to make it difficult for people in that category to actually go through the process of becoming a controller.

Mind you, I'll still jump through the hoops. I want this very badly to say the least. It just seems like the FAA is working against you at times. :P

:panic: Relax....

I'm just pointing out your original post.... Do you really think the FAA is purposely working against you? I sense a tone of sarcasm...now that I reread this... Having a weekend pepc would be awesome :)

:bandit:

No, I never actually thought they were working against us, so yes, I was being sarcastic with that last comment :P

Congrats man :D No email here yet though. I'm guessing/hoping they aren't sending them all out at the same time?

Official emails have not went out yet. I received an email from the Manager at the facility I wanted to be at. He stated I have been assigned to that facility. He has already received his email stating I will be assigned there. I have not received the "official" email yet. Good enough for me!

Ahhh, ok :) I can stop hitting the refresh button over and over again on my email client then ;)

Congrats again man! :D

No fair man. How can you put us in such suspense now?!

Haha, congrats though! Awesome to hear.

Now if we can all figure out if we got selected/where we're going.

anyone have a phone number other than that micki griffin person that i can use to pry them for info about getting selected?

So if facility managers have already received the names of the candidates selected for their facilites, what are the chances official emails could go out later this week?
