Might as well move to the Lav Now (Pop the Popcorn Out)

Ciao Darling. . .*kisses*

Laughable because it's unlikely you had a tough day? Considering what you do for a living you're probably right.

(couldn't resist!)

Oh yeah . . .ask Jtrain, looking down the furlough barrel is a pretty low stress ordeal, lemme tell ya. ;)

Or. . .maybe don't ask Jtrain, I don't know how his emotions were as the gun approached him. Either way, tough day? It's a breeze enjoying a day off.

Seriously though, this thread is mixing up a whole bunch of different scenarios for 135 SIC programs. Let's see if we can agree on this:

Scenario 1: SIC not required on the plane.

Getting paid - preferred.
Not getting paid - This hurts no one, except maybe the SIC's wallet.
Paying - Helping out the company for no good reason, hurting the wallet for sure.

Scenario 2: SIC required on the plane.

You better be getting paid.

That makes a bit more sense. Especially if you knew that if you hung around the airport long enough you could hitch a ride with them anyway :p

I'm sorry, but there's just something not right about paying a freight company to "time build." This isn't a flight school, it's a 135 freight hauler. Charging pilots to fly right seat and log questionable PIC time is just not on the up and up.

Now that's funny.

You know, a lot of you guys here are like little kids. PCL has admitted numerous times to GIA being a mistake he made many years ago when he didn't know any better. He accepted full responsibility, and has gone way out of his way to steer people away from PFT/PFJ in addition to doing a ton of work with his union to better the profession.

It is absolutely pathetic to hear some little low timer making wise cracks like a little high school kid. A lot of people read these newsgroups that are or will be in position to recommend folks for hiring, so some of you might considering growing TFU. Just my $0.02...

The reason this is so funny is how PCL comes off as god's gift to aviation. If it isn't his way it is the highway. He does have way more experience then me and I I KNOW that he probably has some useful information from which I can learn from, but it is delivery. He belittles posters which is very aggravating to many on this site.

Thanks, wrxpilot. :)

:yeahthat:

I have personally saved myself from some silly mistakes along the way by listening to the advice that people on this forum have given.

One of my first posts on this website was asking if I should go drop $20,000 on buying a chunk of multi engine time. The question was soundly rejected by the membership here. Rather than piss on valuable advice I chose to listen to the DECADES of collective experience and not do what I though to be a good idea at the time with all the wisdom of a fresh Private Pilot.

Had I gone and done something silly like that I probably would not have had the cash to get my Instructor certificate, you know, the one that feeds my kids and puts a roof over their heads. I would probably be stuck with a logbook full of time with nobody hiring.

I would not have had the opportunity to build relationships with all the people that I have come across through instruction, some of which have been very lucrative to me. I would not have the job I have now flying the company president around in a T210 for wages that regional FOs simply do not make.

So here I am two years later with 14.2 hours of multi engine time in my logbook, no multi engine rating at all, and no regrets.

When the people that have been there, done than, and perhaps fallen into that trap give their advice, listen.

I agree with this as well. PCL already came out and said that he was there. Since then, he's done a lot of good things for the profession. Lets try to move on from this........

A very smart man said a few months ago in vegas...

Unnecessary. Look, I just find it ironic that the guy gets so angry. He acts holier than thou when it comes to PFT/PFJ and he did it too. He should understand, not belittle people, but no. He takes the "you're-ruining-aviation-for-everybody" lowroad instead. That's not to say that a lot of the information he has isn't valid, or useful, however, lecturing people about how much they're undercutting good jobs and hurting pilots using the tone that he uses is hypocracy when he was a participant in the very program that supposedly hurt the industry so much. As for "growing TFU," using that in the smae sentence as "some little low timer," is ironic, and juvenile, doubly so because your profile lists "1400TT+" as your total time, you've got just a little less time than me, pot calling the kettle black or whatnot. I got a good morning giggle out of this, this morning, thanks.

X100 means "i dont have anything good to add"

we cal all add ":yeahthat:"'s but lets not post just to post

i agree with wxr, PCL, you've done your part to redeem the PFTing (nnot that you need to) but if you guys dont want to take his advice to heart, fine, that's your perogitive, but lets keep the wisecracks to a minimum.
