Youtuber Fatal Crash

DC scene was still amazing even in the early aughts when I was in Annapolis. Many ill-advised expeditions down 50 to the Black Cat and 9:30. Somehow survived them all.

So many nights at 9:30. I was friends with Mark Hurwitz. Seth, his brother owned 9:30. Mark’s stage name was Lips Lackowitz, he was a harp player in a great blues band.

DC had some great blues bands.

Ever go to the Fish Market in Old Town Alexandria?

I lives on a sailboat in Annapolis at the yacht club.

In this case, the pilot-in-command wasn't adequately trained in the operation of the Autopilot...Among some other basic airmanship deficiencies.

Report came out today. The cause was pretty obvious, she was deficient in her stick and rudder skills and depended on automation way too much - automation that she didn't seem to understand how to operate. She had been warned by her instructor that the Debonair was way too much aircraft for her. It also took her 190 hours before she got her PPL.

Interestingly, she had a number of anti-anxiety meds in her system, including one that would have prevented her from getting any sort of medical. Buspirone, Propanolol, Trazodone and Xanax. She lied at her med exams and claimed she didn't have any pre-existing conditions and didn't report the meds.

Having some experience with anxiety and meds myself, that's a pretty hefty dosage of meds she was on. The Xanax and Trazodone could both cause impairment. I'd be curious how "foggy" that made her feel. You definitely wouldn't want be flying an aircraft like that.

The data card in her camera didn't survive the crash, so they didn't have any footage of what might have happened in the cockpit. They reached vertical speeds of -10k ft/min, so there wasn't much left of the airplane or the occupants. They couldn't locate her heart or her brain for the autopsy.
