Your Home Airport Complaints

Metro has that hanger right there where the old flight school was. There was guy for a while down there that had a school that was in a trailer halfway down between those covered hangers. Metro flies a Commander dont they or use to? I live like 5 miles for Tara. I know Chris over a South Atlanta pretty well..I have know him since his dad at the mtc place up at old Southexpressway.

I know when we left PHX there were 25 non revs who didnt get on. Thank God for senority, plus the downgrade of A/C didnt help. But the agent told me all their flights from there leave full.

Dude, that would suck. One of the things I like about SWA's non-rev policy is seniority doesn't mean squat for boarding priority. Must rides....well, they must ride, then it goes to commuting flight crews, then active employees, active employee families/retirees, and finally people travelling on incentive or space available passes. Much like normaly boarding, the non-rev goes first come, first serve. So, if a person with 20 years with the company comes sprinting up to the counter after I've been there for 45 minutes, I haven't wasted my time.

Yeah, my experience has been that 90% of the time we are dealing with problems on the airplane it was started by a gate agent. Hate to hear stuff like that. Did you have a good vacation?

Vacation has been good but back to the grind on Monday. I know when I was an ALA most of the delays were due to the agents screwing around...

Yeah, I know Chris. Metro has the big hanger that's kind of isolated, near where they are building the new hangers. They fly a commander and a Seneca II. Pretty good operation they have going on over there. Do you train with them (SAA)?

The trailer you refer to I believe belongs to Bob McSwiggan now, the DE. It's right next to the covered hangers, close to where Metro used to be.

I havent done any formal training with them but I am checked out there. Like I said I have known Chris for sometime now and he Dad also. I saw they have there new website up now also. I want to get down there but just have been so busy around the house. Is Metro's hanger they one all the way past the T hangers down on the left. Kinda all by itself? Have you done any flights with that DE there?

I took my private checkride with the DE. He's a really cool guy, he's the guy that owned the DC-3 they used to have parked there (I think it's at Griffin now), and also the DC-4 maybe.

My complaint about Fairfield, MT 5U5:

The dang weeds are a foot tall that are growing through the runway. It has been chip-sealed many a time and its starting to break up. You land hard in something like a 210 or light twin and you'll punch through it and be in a world of hurt.

Next SDL airport noise meeting (noise study progress workshop) is this Thursday, August 5th from 1830-2030 at the SDL Airport terminal building. I, unfortunately, won't be able to make it. Can anyone else?

Oh come on the grand prix is kinda cool

. But what is even in the BKL terminal used for anyway. There are those three gates which i've never seen being used. But I do agree its on odd place for antique shows. I remember going to some travel expo there.

EDIT: whoops didn't notice this was an ancient thread, i replied to a post on page 1.

And Cleveland Hopkins has nothing but RJs, RJs, and more RJs.

1:Fuel prices are ridiculous.
2:Only one runway. The airport is busy with corporate jets and student traffic, with no separation between them.

How much should there be?

SYR again - GA facilities are more than decent, but the price for 100LL has topped $4 a gallon. Yes, I know that there are higher prices elsewhere in the country. But only 20 miles NW at FZY, it's almost $1 a gallon CHEAPER. Of course, if you know how messed up the airport management was.....don't get me started about that.

John_,
What kind of search engine do u use to find the big loads? She looks like a special guest that should appear on Dr. Phil.

Who is LuAnn?
