I would love to fly old school technology. My dream airplanes were the 727, DC-10, L-1011 and DC-8. What's the one thing those have in common? A FLIGHT ENGINEER!

Being an FE on a DC-10 is equivalent to deadheading between layovers.

I've always been curious but never remembered to ask. How can you go from a Canuck to "I think I'll join the US Marine Corp?"

Not judging, just curious eh.

All you Airbus drivers are lazy!

:p

Why thank you….I resemble that remark!!! :D

Edit: Guess I should add my warped progression as well

College ---> College dropout ---> Enlisted Marines ---> Returned to College ---> Finish B.S. (Biomechanics) ---> Grad School (Prosthtetics) ---> Prosthetist ---> Quit job & moved to FL ---> Started/ finished certs ---> CFI ---> Regional ---> Major

What a long and winding road it's been! (Thanks McCartney!)

So if you have to give up an arm and a leg in the next negotiations, you can replace it yourself....?

That CX must have been pretty awesome.

Certainly was an interesting airplane. Lots of little gotchas that took about a good year or two to figure out. The company however was astoundingly lame. Both pilots and management. I've spent the last two months just trying to forget everything about XOJET, other than how to land the X. Which is a pretty involved thing.

What is interesting to me is that so few who ended up 121 did any non-flying jobs for the airlines, seemingly only for FBOs. I met several while I was at Skywest, but I thought there would be more here.

First solo 2005 > enlisted US Navy 2006-2010 > college/initial certs 2010-2012 > 135 flight dispatcher > 135 FO > soon to be 121 regional FO
