Your career progression!

Little kid-1999 Dreamed of being a pilot
1999-2003 Obtained certificates/ratings, CFI/CFII/MEI etc.
2003 Hired at small regional airline, flying SF-340B
2004 Hired at large regional airline, flying EMB-135/145
2006ish Upgraded to Captain
2011 Quit flying altogether to pursue a new career in Law Enforcement, after I realized I was very unhappy
2013 Changed agencies to my "perfect fit" career position
2014 Happily married, father of a beautiful little girl, feeling very fulfilled in my vocation

Just throwing a different perspective in there. I still love airplanes, but I hated the airline lifestyle after a while. It's very complicated to explain in detail why for the purposes of this thread. However, the point is that your career progression should take you to a place where YOU are happy. Who cares if others feel you're accomplished or not.

Are you FlyChicaga?

Pretty sure that means you won
After dealing with my first person collapsing in public today, which was extremely satisfying, I thought "this must be what it's like to manage a serious emergency in the air, only it's not my life on the line." I'm happier today with my career change than I've been anytime in the past 3 years.
