Here is my first 121 job. Convair 600/640 for SMB stage lines. Hire date 10/19/1987. The one with no engines I used to fly out of LAX. And the other one is her sister ship on the Evergreen ramp at LAX. I used to fly mail contracts from LAX-LAS. It was a great job at the time. Good thing I got furloughed when I did or I might not have ended up at UPS....

My god those Lear cockpits are small...

Size doesn't matter...right? <gulp>

When I went to Lear school after having flown much bigger airplanes for a decade I was warned, "In most airplanes you sit in the cockpit. You wear the Learjet like a thong".

It is without a doubt the most cramped, uncomfortable jet cockpit i've been in. But, like all things, you get used to it.

Here are the two types in our fleet:

Does anyone else find it amusing that so many manufacturers feel it necessary to put the aircraft type on the yoke? I guess it's a safety device in case you're shooting an approach to minimums in a thundersnow storm, lose an engine, and suddenly forget what kind of airplane you're in.
