XJT AIP

How about the company telling CLE pilots to not commute to CLE, and instead to call scheduling and then scheduling will tell them where to commute to? I'm pretty sure they can't do that. You start and end trips in your domicile, and if you don't the company gives you a DH.

I've realized in the last few days that it doesn't matter if we vote this TA in or not, because the company isn't going to follow ANY agreement, and thus any contract isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

True, they can't force you to start/end anywhere but your domicile, but if they deadheaded me to my assignment I would take it.

"I'm in Paris. Work it out." :)

F word being FOCUS ON MEMORY ITEMS AND PROFILES. Do not worry about any of that until you are off of OE. Getting through training, and building the best toolbox to serve you online should be your only priority. You can't control it, but you doing top notch on training can get you a look elsewhere if stuff you can't, nor have, control of occurs. FOCUS! If you focus now, it'll all fall into place going forward.
Waiting to see if I get back for sims. CLE is shutting down for a few days due to weather.

Extra time to have all of that stuff, flows, normals and abnormals stone cold so ask you have to manipulate the controls and play 3 dimensional chess in your mind. The more you have to recall the flows, the less brain power you'll dedicate to SA and manipulating the controls, which in your first fast plane is going to take more concentration than you think.

This is great advice. Use the extra time to stay way out ahead of the curve.

Should I be getting my resume ready?? How long till the F word begins?

You have 4 or 5 years I'd guess... That's not important though, focus on those profiles. Memorize them... Seriously that is SO, SO, SO important. You need to know when to call for Gear down flaps 22 on a SE ILS. That's all that matters right now.

We haven't done SE yet. CANPA and ILS so far.

United is the one that shut things down, and due to the inclement weather, not due to a lack of pilots. How are those memory items coming? Got uncommanded swerving on the ground down yet?
Yep. 8) They are making us know CA flows too.

Still not snowing at CLE.

How else would you be able to cross check your flying partner? You may not know what was missed, but knowing something was missed, and addressing it before it has a chance to be an issue is a huge, huge deal. Huge part of CRM/TEM is being able to find mistakes and then addressing the minute problem before it becomes an issue.

Same goes with mode awareness. The better you understand the logic of the jet, including the FD, FMS, FADEC, EICAS messages, the less time you're distracted from flying the jet. And believe me, even though the 145 jets are fun and easy to fly, they'll still bite. And when you're hand flying, you devote more attention to controlling the aircraft than flying strategically. Glass jets are built to be flown strategically and your task load can quickly build to task saturation when flying tactically.

An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.

I doubt the company wasn't keeping united in the loop with the lack of crews. It was probably a mutual decision. The crews then get rerouted to other bases with staffing problems

And in this weeks update: It doesn't matter how we got here…. ….Thanks for all you do!

• these guys. The retards running things, and the union "pussi-tude" that is going along with it, just makes me want to say • it and go into business for myself.

This • show is an embarrassment. This company doesn't deserve to exist any longer with the retards running things.

And honestly, I use the "R" word very sparingly, but these guys absolutely deserve it.

I recommend having all the profiles memorized before hand and use classtime/FTDs as review to solidify your knowledge.

And I think many on here are trying to give you a hint that you are posting way too much for someone in their 1st 121 ground school

I always gave management the benefit of the doubt but even I lost confidence in their intelligence level after the Surejet debacle.

One would think after spending millions to turn A tech hangar in a pretty nice headquarter complete with its own company store they wouldn't let the whole company go down in flames just to spite the pilots.

Then you remember Surejet....
