no no, i was talking about the 767/757 flying out of CVG, not JFK....The 767 is $12/hr more than the 88. That would be nice, but there's more to life than $. Time at home is far more important than $12/hr. To bid the ER in JFK would be a pay raise, BUT he'd have a lot of commuting expenses that would more than eat up the pay raise. Not to mention he'd lose a lot of time at home. So, for us, right now, doing the ER in JFK is not something he's interested in. Remember though, that he's already done international flying, the 767 with TWA.
Now a CA seat would be enough of an incentive to commute to ATL!
Behind ya!Congrats again, BTW. Aren't electric seats just dandy?
How was Hop?
Motorized sheepskin is now one of my true loves! I move them inflight just because I like it.I think the new seats that arent motorized are actually more comfortable... woo hoo for the headrest.

Nope.
I wouldn't bet the farm on the long term viability of CVG. But that's just a hunch.
I commute CVG to JFK. I find I have much more time at home now than flying domestic. Domestically, I was flying a 4 on 3 off rotation and was catching myself coming and going. Now I'm gone 6 or 7 days...but am home 8 to 10 days at a time. The commuting is not fun, but it's all same day commutes. I definitely like having the longer stretches of time at home.
Also, 70 hours of MD80 captain time on reserve...is not much more pay than 80 some hours of 767 FO pay. It's less than $1000 per month.
Yeah, but you're senior to him! He's a 10/99 hire, and would be on the edge of RSV out in JFK. Maybe a lineholder in the summer, but probably not in the winter. Why would he want to sit RSV in JFK in the winter?
Obviously, things are re-evaluated every time a new bid comes out, but he's staying put for now.
I knew it! I knew it!
The award shows that 2 people junior to Bill, one in his class one the class behind him, got 88A in LGA! He didn't believe me when I said he'd be able to hold it! He did not have his bid in for 88A LGA, because of the commute, but it's nice to know he could have held it if he'd wanted it.
He can now hold F/O on any equipment, any base with the exception of the 777.
BTW Congrats to Kevin!![]()
BTW Congrats to Kevin!![]()
What did Kevin get??
777 F/O...
I'll be ATL based again, soon. Let's see, do I remember any southern besides "y'all?"
Kevin
Don't forget the plural form....."all y'all". And in the simulator don't forget to "mash" those buttons.
