We turned as soon as we got the clearance. Maybe he just didn't see us start the turn inbound on the scope yet, idk, we were on like a 150 heading previously iircMaybe cut the corner by Grity. Sometimes we clear guys for the visual or to follow and expect them to turn inbound from the base but take the base all the way to the fac without a dogleg and screws us with the next guy. Or he just screwed up.

When doing the visual from something other than "fly 290, cleared for the visual", I make sure to clue the controller into what our plans are, especially at smaller fields.
Our SOPs at our shop are pretty tight with regards to visual approaches, and flying over the FAF at FAF altitude is pretty much the norm. Some places aren't hip to that, so it's good to get everyone on the same page.
You guys can't fly a standard visual approach from a downwind and turn a 2-3 mile final?
