Why not the airlines!?!?!?!?

Them teeth tho

It looks like he can't hear you over all this winning he is doing...

I'm obviously in the minority but I really enjoy his videos. Seems to have a good attitude. Who cares if he's happy doing what he's doing. Good on him!

So there isn't anything that you have to do at the airlines that you don't 100% enjoy?
If there's no KCM, TSA. And flying into the same 12 airports, not sure how varied your flying is but I get bored of the same fields day in and day out
I'd imagine ground support may be better at some FBOs than what DGS in Bartledoo, BFE has to offer

True. Twas not 35 min ago when someone tried to vector me after we were already cleared for a visual following traffic...

New controller? Probably didn't pay attention to the relief brief. Or training in progress. We got a couple fresh from the labs.

Maybe it's the booze but it seems to me like one of those posed photos that wasn't supposed to be posed and was "Oh, I was just doin' stuff and someone took this photo of me when I wasn't looking" type pictures.

Think it's a screen grab from video

Damn! There is one? How do I get there? Do people talk like fashionable polos and fancy places they've been to and meritocracy and stuff?

Yea, ProPilotWorld. Started a long time ago from a couple of guys that bailed off of FI.

I was a member for quite a while. The nominal fee kepts some of the riff raft off.

But I think the original principals bailed out at some point. IMHO the last year I was there the hand of moderation got pretty heavy and the corporate slant got steeper so I bailed off.

Besides, I can come here and annoy all y'all fer free....

No, he cleared us for a visual following an erj, we start turning inbound and he then tells us heading 090
"You cleared us for the visual?"
"...contact tower."

090? Probably meant a 190 to cut the corner over TEB. I know I've done that.

Maybe cut the corner by Grity. Sometimes we clear guys for the visual or to follow and expect them to turn inbound from the base but take the base all the way to the fac without a dogleg and screws us with the next guy. Or he just screwed up.

When doing the visual from something other than "fly 290, cleared for the visual", I make sure to clue the controller into what our plans are, especially at smaller fields.

Our SOPs at our shop are pretty tight with regards to visual approaches, and flying over the FAF at FAF altitude is pretty much the norm. Some places aren't hip to that, so it's good to get everyone on the same page.

We turned as soon as we got the clearance. Maybe he just didn't see us start the turn inbound on the scope yet, idk, we were on like a 150 heading previously iirc

You guys can't fly a standard visual approach from a downwind and turn a 2-3 mile final?

No. You need to be lined up and configured by 1,000AGL. 3nm at 300'/nm is only 900AGL. 4nm is only 1,200 AGL, which doesn't give you a lot of wiggle room to get established and stabilized, especially from a base turn. 4.5-5nm is the practical minimum.

Honestly, I like it that way. No reason to yank the folks around in back trying to make something work.
