Who/What are we going to blame the next one on?

So with all these issues described in this thread. What is the ultimate solution? Do you follow the procedure for turning them into the RIGHT people or just bid around these individuals without speaking up? This sounds like a major problem with the potential to get a lot worse.

At my company and base I wouldn't call it a major problem. I would say that for the most part, the crazy is confined to the usual 10% rule (10% of the world are idiots).

I know I just got done doing a fair amount of complaining, but I'd actually say I've flown with more absolutely incredible captains than I have people I'd like to bludgeon with my flight case. I think one of the best things you can do is lead by example. Other than that, it depends on the severity of the issue I suppose. Safety related? Absolutely go through the appropriate channels. Make sure they know they're doing it. If they do and simply don't care, its time to make a bigger issue out of it. If it's just a minor/technique issue that bothers you, bid around them.

When you're in somebody else's employ, you do what they say, and don't be pissed when somebody reminds you of that.

I think you're the third person to somehow morph my clear, standard written english papagraph stating emphatically that I'm not saying "don't speak up" in to one saying "don't speak up". Now, you can't all be lawyers, so what's going on here?

If everybody else is the problem, then I would say that things are trending toward your statement not being as clear as you think.

Care to try again?

Whoah whoah whoah. Autothrust Blue is that Justin Beiber in your avatar? Oh my heck, FOR SHAME!

That is not Justin Bieber.

You, dasleben (who, I might add, correctly ID'd the avatar in a side conversation), and SurferLucas may all surrender your geek cards at the soonest opportunity.

Autothrust Blue is Justin Beiber.

Private airplane, lives in LA...it all adds up.

Puleeze, I can sing way better.

I'm married to a lawyer.

Please say hello to said lawyer for me!

How bout first you tell me what a normal, sane person sees when they read the following...

Me said:
I mean, obviously, yes, if you're in fear for your life, speak up!
Me said:
And I made a point of saying "if you see anything you don't like, tell me". And I think one or two of them even did.
Me said:
Who's arguing against saying "hey dumbass the engines are overheating and about to lock up"? Certainly I'm not.

...which then elicits this response?

YOU said:

Because the implication seems to be that we're having a conversation, except you're responding to comments that I not only didn't make, but actively and explicitly disagreed with. I believe that's called a "strawman", counselor?
