Wheels Up

Also, there are new schedules being "discussed". The options are 9/6, or 6/6 with travel on your last day off. The 9/6 sched would have a pay raise. Not sure if the discussion was started to keep people from quitting, or if it will actually come to fruition, but they took care of the domicile issue that people were complaining about so maybe there is hope.

Don't think so...Friend ran into a crew at WST and they said schedule still sucks and have had people bail because of it...

Has hiring slowed down? And if so, for what reason(s)? Had a great phone chat recently with a rep from HR who pulled my resume and sent it up the chain. Got a reply the next day with a questionnaire to fill out and to provide 2x available times for a phone interview. Sent it in that day and haven't heard a peep since. This was over two weeks ago. Another friend in the same boat has been waiting nearly a month. I know someone who started class with them last week, but it seems that things have slowed down. And with more birds on the way in early 2016...

Still no word on anything changing with the schedule. Morale is super low. Anyone's guess on when this will happen. Lots of pilots are leaving despite giving it a chance.

A friend was all excited posting on his Facebook about the 8/6 schedule announcement, and I told him that I was willing to wager that he'd still be on 6/3 come January 1st. Looks like I might end up being right, sadly.

Kicking the old can down the road eh? That blows. Just another time the old saying from my "semi-pro" bike racing days comes into play: "promises are fine but you don't have that sponsorship until you are riding the free bike down the road."

Yep, and the fun part is that the people that were hired post-8/6 announcement will most likely be the first people to get that schedule, and all the old timers get a dick in the keester yet again. But rumor has it that Wheels Up is hearing that pilots are unhappy, and is asking Gama why that is the case.

People called this "growing pains" where I used to work.

It is OK to call it "not fair" but it is also true that "no one cares."

It will say a lot about the company depending on how the people who say "it's not fair" are treated.

How does this 8/6 work? What if your rotation starts on a weekend day? Then you never get a weekend off????

All 8/6 rotations start on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. There wrinkle most have yet to see is one month a year you have to work 3 long weekends, Fri-Mon. Only a few people got this for November.
