Wheels Up

Good luck with your interview. Man that 6/3 is a hard pill to swallow.
Yea... My buddy has been doing it for 6 months now and it's definitely starting to wear on him. He didn't think it would be that bad at first, but it certainly takes it's toll. I've heard they have pilots leaving pretty regularly. You would think it would be more cost-effective to just hire more pilots and offer a better schedule than to lose pilots constantly and pay for training etc...

I talked to someone over there who's in the know and he said that when Gamma won the bid to operate Wheelsup...they were originally offered one more pilot per airplane than they have now. But the owner of Gamma said that he could do it with less.

Friend of mine is leaving because of the schedule and lack of communication with the company. He says that he'll airline out to a plane and basically sit for 6 days. He also had some pay issues (Perdiem) with the company.

I would recommend a follow up email, if you are still interested. KDAL and KHOU will be opening soon.

got a phone call from Stacey...interviewing in Dallas next week, will let ya know what happens

What we talked about:
~schedule is 6 on 3 off but that is supposedly in the works on changing
~Pay: SIC is ~50K, PIC is 70-80K
~ base would be out of Dallas Love

I live in Downtown Dallas and this would hopefully double my pay and exponentially boost my QOL.

my times for the curious:
~3900 TT
~2300 Turbine
~1900 of which is E170/175
~400 Saab SIC and Caravan Turbo Prop PIC
~currently 2.8 years as a Shuttle America E170 FO...I would upgrade in about 2 years if attrition and growth stayed constant(not holding my breath)

anyone knows anything about the interview holla at me!

I'm getting married this weekend so I will be MIA most of the week...but the interview I had was ok.

70K to start unless you have KA time then it's 80K (you get the pay bump after 100 hrs in type also)
50K for FO's...55K for KA time.

full benefits on day 1
training at flight safety in Wichita or Atlanta
recurrent every 6 months
base will be at Dallas Love Field at Signature Flight support
all crew members are typed in the BE300

what I didn't like...plan on being gone the whole six days...you always stay with the plane...rarely do you have a split trip or a day trips.
no movement to other aircraft (jet aviation, etc)

offered me an FO position because no KA time with upgrade as early as 6 months to a 1 year.

ok kids I'm out...

I have 3 friends that have just got on here... Sure the schedule is less than ideal but they say it's a top notch operation and the pay is good. Plus I think they are being told that the schedule is expected to improve in the future as staffing needs are fulfilled.
Do you know what web site to apply for a Wheels Up Pilot position? Thanks, Alfie
