Oh I agree with you about working for Phil. The man was not exactly labor friendly and Pinnacle is in ruins because of his "management". I also believe he was shown the door once the problems started showing up to the BOD. The thought that another company would give him a job is a joke, but that is how things are done in aviation. I heard a joke once that you weren't a true pilot until you had been furloughed, bankrupt, and divorced. Apparently you aren't a real airline CEO until you have caused a company to go through bankruptcy.
Part of the reason that I am looking at PE is the drive, but that isn't the only reason. My new job isn't exactly working out as I had planned. I have barely worked in the 2 months since my type ride. Sounds great, but part of the draw of my new job was the PIC. 10 hours a month is hardly helping me. That and since I am not flying charter as originally planned, I am not receiving per diem or an hourly charter rate. I'm actually not making any more than when I left Pinnacle. At least it is salary now instead of depending on picking up time.
I don't know. The grass is always greener. The way I see it if PE makes it and I was in class day one, then I am set. If it doesn't make it, then at least I have a 737 type and some time in the plane. As more details come out, I'll decide what I think is best, but for now I plan to apply.
