What's the Point of a Union at (Regional/Major/Etc.)

Even before we expanded though we saw the threat and started a union drive.
Yeah yeah. Including that memo by Colgan that 9E pilots that they want your Q400 seats. Funny how your group never saw the threat when the Qs were rolling in and upgrade times were 6 months to a year.

Are you saying the current Endeavor contract is less lucrative than what Colgan pilots were making before we unionized?
Anything was better than the 1999 CBA the 9E pilots were paid under.

I appreciate you pointing out this ALPA victory. Guys saved their jobs thanks to what ALPA was able to negotiate.

Yup, a great ALPA victory at the expense of original 9E pilots.

And curious:

You keep ignoring what I write Dale

Why are you calling someone out by their first name? That's uncalled for, and very surprising considering how much of a fit you threw when I wrote simply the airline you work for (of course never your name here - I never do that).

Probably because they've actually met before and despite the little disagreement they are currently having have respect for each other in general.

I've met Seggy before, had a lunch, talked on the phone, and have respect in general despite disagreements, but I still would not call him by his first name and similarly wouldn't expect the same from him either. Just a respectful thing not to IMO.

I don't think many people call Seggy by his first name. In fact, I would bet many, many people don't even know his first name.

But I take your point.

We did see the threat. That is why we had a union drive going on BEFORE they announced the Q400s. It took two times, but ALPA was voted in while we were expanding.

yeah bull. You made a statement that was false. period. won't admit it. Just admit it! Say yes there are programs that are being successfully operated by non union houses…if you can't then you are full of big purple KOOLAId

Yes, they are being operated by nonunion airlines.

However, once again, you are ignoring what I am saying about the third parties. Quite simply those third parties don't have the resources without a union in place to run these programs properly. I have stated numerous times why you need those third parties to have proper resources in place.

You keep ignoring that…and that was the only assertion I've made all along.

No, you have made a lot of assertions. Including a ridiculous 'dress down'.

thing is, a whole lot of people see it, but you and Todd don't and that is telling.

The only thing I am seeing is you are ignoring a vast majority of my points.

Oh, the "butthurt" because the old guy knows less about a subject than the 30-something. How cute.
Really? That is your response? Is it really necessary for you to be so rude and disrespectful to Dale? Is that the new norm on here these days? Considering what I saw with what went on towards MikeD yesterday in another thread, this behavior is just getting out of control. If you don't think that no one is getting sick of this b.s., you'd be wrong. There is no need for this, Todd. You should know better than this. Pretty damn shameful of you.

The person you should be shaming is Dale. His attitude towards @Seggy has been atrocious on this forum since a thread that took place a while ago regarding an accident investigation and Dale completely disrespected him and his experience. It's kept going since then. It's uncalled for, and if he doesn't want someone to call him on it, then he should learn to respect someone who has valuable experience in the subject matter like @Seggy.

Just to clarify then...your position is that Skywest's ASAP program is not being run properly, right?

As I said earlier, I don't work there so I really don't know how it is being run as I haven't paid much attention to SAPA recently. I can say though, in order to be run properly, the third party needs to be able to take actions (I have highlighted above) if there is an issue. Does your third party have a staff both legal and technical to give guidance if there is an issue? What legal action would SAPA take to protect the pilots if for some reason things went south and some pilots were violated due to the fact there was no ASAP Program? Can the SAPA President even speak publicly on issues to the media? Obviously you never want it to get to any of this, but stuff happens.

Once again, one shouldn't assume things will work in the future the way they have worked in the past. While things may seem to be going ok now, that doesn't mean things are being run properly or not.

I didn't disrespect Seggy, he disrespected himself by overstating his experience…him trying to claim equality with MikeDs experience was almost as funny as when he lied to the girl in the hotel trying to tell her he was an international pilot for Continental when he was a regional airline pilot…same thing. Here he refuses to admit that his statement was inaccurate. I actually tried to not get involved with Seggy for a long time even though he was looking for anything he thought he could use to pick at me…just to set the record straight. Those are the FACTS… lol you two are really doing the union a disservice by living in your fantasy world.

.
I didn't care about nor even disagree with your other posts…you told a boo boo, and now you admitted that you were wrong…it took all this time...so silly. so lame

That was the entire purpose of me inserting myself in this thread…go about your business and I'll leave you alone until the nest time you overstate your position.
