What plane do you have nostalgia for?

Thanks man. Yeah, it is a nice shot. I had to freeze my ass off though to take it. :D

The 'Tri-motor' is the essence of an airliner. A great machine capable of a lot of things. I really enjoyed my time on it, left and right seat. And could I find a slot driving one again, I would readily climb back in that noisy cockpit.

Did my ppl, Ir and comm in those. Don't miss it.

:yeahthat:

I have about five hours in an Eclipse. Why? Because the Warrior was taken. I really enjoyed flying the DA40 with G1000 but not the 20. I felt like I was flying the Wright Flier into mild turbulence with a Siamese twin attached to my abdomen (passenger). I also hate the way it lands.

Nice, I will have to show these to my old man (he was a Navy P-2V driver)

I always enjoyed talking to guys who flew or worked on the 'tune in the Navy. Say "hey" to your old man for me. I was a Neptune mechanic/crew chief for an airtanker operator (and got some stick time & an SIC tyoe as well). She's a great plane!

And I thank you for your frost bit fingers and ass for this pic. :D

Great pic bro and hope you don't mind me having it as a wall paper.

And with that being said, anytime you get ready to snap a few more 722's, I'll be waiting!

Will do. I know he flew a couple of the tankers now sitting out on the ramp at Missoula while they were still wearing grey paint. Pretty cool about the stick time, it is a really unique aircraft....almost like a WWII bomber in a way.

Interesting. Of all the planes I've ever flown, I feel like I can control a DA20 the best of them. Its real easy to fly, and has real good speed for the fuel burn. Spins are real fun in them. Anything under about 150nm, and I'd always take the DA20 versus the DA40. Sure, the 40 is faster, but the cost difference made flying the DA20 a better deal. Plus, I've seen what happens when they make an emergency landing, and try to go through a forest and across a creek. Plane was destroyed, but the guy walked away from it.

I know the CFI, the plane was from the flight school I started flying at, he is not gonna jump in a DA40 ever again

So the engine quit, and they balled the plane up but yet everyone survived. One very nice thing about the Diamonds is the they very rarely end up with a post impact fire. With the DA-40, the tanks are sandwiched between the dual spar of the wing. Very rarely does the plane end up with flames after an impact. Take a look at the DA-40 versus similarly constructed airplanes in the NTSB files, specifically in regards to fires.
