What plane do you have nostalgia for?

Jayare and I were sitting here talking about a piston pounder we used to fly. I was talking about how when I see them on the ramp, I still kinda miss flying them. He didn't. Anywho, what plane do you miss flying?

Cessna 210 for me. Lots of good memories and its a fun plane to fly. (Not the same plane in said conversation.)

727. Loud. Rickety. Durable. Fast. Greasy. A jet for aviators.

I like the DC-8 too, but technically, since I haven't flown it, I really can't offer that considering the nature of the question!

The old 182 I used to fly at the flying club back in Washington.

She was old, but very reliable. I had some real adventures in that plane.

There's a great deal to be said for simplicity.

YS-11....

My first type rating. Probably because I had so little time in it, and none with a payload. Just training and ferry time.

Lear 25 for me, obnoxiously loud, gas guzzling, and doesn't even like to stay straight and level, but damn was it fun!

Also had lots of fun in the Piper Tomahawk I did my work as a CFI in.

Thats an easy question for me. Definitely the plane in my avatar. It belonged to my dad, and had been in the family longer than I had until the tiedowns broke a little over a year or so ago. I did my private, instrument, and commercial single all in that plane. It was a sad day when I saw what happened to it.

Thinking long and hard about this one...

If I had to choose something, I'd say EMB-145XR. But, I wouldn't say I'm nostalgic for it. I thought it was just a good airplane that performed better than the Mack truck EP and LR models. So far, the plane I'm currently in is my favorite I've flown by far. Cessna 402C. It's a rattly and loud 10-man bobsled, but damnit if I don't love it. :D

Us on our way to BWI. I'm in front:

727, Right seat. Paid $120/hr. Fully paid health benefits, and a fully funded pension. 18 days off. Worked as a instructor 6 months out of the year for premium bucks.

Easiest. Job. Ever.

This was in 2000. Anyone got a hot tub time machine?

I have more time in the 60 now than any airplane, and it was my first jet, so it will always be my favorite jet. As far as pistons go, the BE-58 and I are bonded. I flew more in the Caravan, but it is so simple it was too easy to become complacent. Plus, it's a freakin' Caravan!!

So, BE-58 and Lear 60. I wish I had flown the 35 at the 'Net...

Cessna 337 Skymaster

I'm with Doug on the DC-8. I want to fly one!
If we're talking what we would love to fly...DC-3 at the top of the list, followed by 727 and eventually 747 classic...throw in the Citation X and it finishes the list.
