What not to do at a SKYW interview

True story: A pilot vacationed in Europe a couple weeks and grew a nice little goatee or beard or something. He had to ride in the jumpseat to get home and about 3/4 of the way across the pond, it dawned on the captain that his jumpseater had facial hair (didn't notice or think of it until that time). "Holy crap, you can't be up here with that! Get back there and shave!" Off to the lav he went. . .

Here's another goatee. I didn't show up for my interview with it, however.

On topic:
The interview team at SkyWest was great. If your friend was told to come back in six months, he must have displayed an attitude that was not correct. With the proper attitude in any situation, I'm sure that he would have had the opportunity to complete the process that day or even reschedule for the next day of interviews. We really need qualified people with the right personalities.

That picture is sexy.......

Why would he be sarcastic about this? Worst case scenario you got in real late, no bag, at least SHAVE and show up. Apologize about the situation, explain it as is, and ask first to come back another day. Case closed.

Well we don't know what really happened. But they guy did show up. He could have bought some shaving stuff, but other than that what else could he have done? Doesn't sound like there was much he could do. He shouldn't be dismissed from a pilot interview because his bag was lost. Why wouldn't Skywest just reschedule the interview? If the guy comes back a second time too, you know he is pretty motivated for the job.

As you said, we don't know the whole truth. So I will cease and desist with any further speculation :)

Well this has turned out interesting.

I was thinking of asking him some more details next time I see him. But its not worth it

I wouldve shaven before I left, not checked a bag, carried my paper work on me personally.

LOL okay sure, it's a "trumpet"

/definitely a saxophone. I've never been more 100% about anything in my life.
//LOL seriously, a trumpet?

I didn't bring my tuba along with me either:bandit:

This reminds me of a story . . . One time, in band camp . . .no not that story . . .

When I was in high school I was talking to this cute girl and told her I played the horn . . .and she asked what kind of horn I played . . . when I told her I played trumpet she said, "Oh, I love saxophone . . ."

ouch:o
