I'm assuming that the reason the zipper tie isn't winning the poll is that not enough people have tried them.
That and many people probably haven't tried them with the locking zipper (like Cutabove makes) so it doesn't unzip all the time.

No, it looks fine if you're wearing a point or button-down collar. President Kennedy wore a four-in-hand pretty regularly. When it comes to men's fashion, if it's good enough for Jack, it's good enough for us.

Anytime I had a job where a clip on tie was an option, I went with clip on. I'm lazy, and that way it is quick to take off when I'm out of the public eye and want to stuff it in my pocket. I wear a traditional tie when I need to look spiffy for something non-work related. Never heard of a zipper tie.

I preferred the zipper ties but I no longer have that option and have to wear a conventional tie.
