Zipper at work. As soon as I get in the cockpit the tie comes off. Outside if work, it has to be traditional.

Traditional, Ours looks like 1950's wall paper too! woot

Before this place Zipper tie all the way, I never had any issues with the zipper tie coming undone like others tho.

Zipper during jacket season, traditional in the summer because it's in view more and I can make the length just right. I'm a little on the taller side and the x long zipper is still a tad short for my liking.

Everyone talking about zipper's coming loose do yours not have the locking zipper? Those work great.

Traditional tie, double windsor knot. That said, the only time the tie is on is when in the jet bridge and terminal. On the jet, off it goes. Not going to have someone grab it during an altercation and be able to choke me out with my own tie.
Send the Captain back. It's win-win

Proper tie, half Windsor. RN Tie Pin.

My biggest uniform issue is cheap shirts as they're bloody uncomfortable. I gave up on finding decent ones after the Tailor I went to stopped doing them and bought nice white shirts and had a local seamstress add epaulettes.

First world problems...

This one... Exclusively.

Zipper tie for work…with early morning shows, the last thing I want to do is get up earlier than I have to and work on the length and knot so it looks good. Outside of work, I like the windsor knot and just recently tried the trinity knot at a wedding. Surprisingly, most people noticed and wanted to know how to do that knot.

Why do you guys even have uniforms. Surprised you guys aren't wearing yoga pants with "ATLAS" stamped across the ass.
Right?

You'd be surprised, though. We still have our 10% who'll give you crap about scuffed shoes on a freighter.

Has anybody ever been held hostage/injured/killed/hung/decapitated while wearing a standard tie in the work place as a pilot?

Just wondering if it has ever been documented.

Not that I'm aware of.....and the first time it happens, it isn't going to be me either. ;)

Everybody keeps saying full windsor, but you do realize that full windsor knots are only meant for wide spread collar shirts, right? Most uniform shirts have a point collar, and a half windsor or four-in-hand is more appropriate, depending on how narrow the spread and the jacket lapels are.
