They're supposed to send us tickets? I bought the "A la carte career fair/hiring symposium." Last year, I just showed up and checked in. Is this year different?

Today I messaged @Toria and said mean things about @CaptBill. Figure that should earn me some points.

Remember folks, you've gotta keep those contacts in the loop about where you're at and what you want to do with your career, even if your only goal is to insult your mentors.

So true. I called a friend yesterday to catch up and learned he good get my app in the "short stack" at a place I'd like to go. All I wanted to do was trade stories about being a new parent.

Hey thanks Mr. Counsel, I don't normally associate with attorneys but since you have a nice wife, I'll make an exception. Good to hear from you. I don't really like you much but since you are good about staying in touch, I'll get your letter of recommendation submitted this week. Toria isn't talking to me this week thanks to you, so I'll have time to get it done. Hopefully I can get you a job you dirt ball.
 
Yesterday I messaged a couple people at my dream airline for a meet and greet. Would actually like to get to know some folks on the website. Today I'll be flying 4 legs in a plane with no FMS or ACARS (#jetproblems), which should get me up to snuff on...something. And tomorrow I'll update my airline apps.

Meh. No thanks. I like my commute now that is guaranteed to have 5 empty seats, 4 wheels, and I have the keys. Still has a chance of a mechanical delay though.

Besides, I can't take someone seriously, who's telling me to bid it, when I see their name on the bid list for "da jet" ;)

Yeah, about that. We'll see. You'll notice that the effective date is way out in the future, and the domicile in question didn't have any vacancies in the last DVR - we all know how that goes, mind.

I am wondering about how likely I am to be "stuck" on this airplane if the latest set of rumors are true.

Wow I must have my head in the sand. I'm unaware of the latest set of rumors. I got quite involved in shop gossip at the previous carrier and it was bringing/wearing me down.

It's the same everywhere; we're getting X airplanes for Y and Z, my friend's cousin who is a check airman and they are in choir together said so.

"18 months" is how long the EM2 has been supposed to hang around for the past 15 years, but this time there might be some credibility to it.

Then had an In-N-Out Burger...
 
Went to a Fly-In/Drive-In Breakfast and helped support the local Civil Air Patrol, Met a few new people there and BS' with my CP

And updated the good ole logbook!
 
I'm spending at least an hour every day getting back into the books to help prepare myself should an interview arise. Today is the chapter on aircraft performance in "The Illustrated Guide to Aerodynamics"
