What aviation watch would you pick if money wasn't a issue

Re: Breitling Emergency

I'm pretty much sold on the X33. The Breitlings are nice but I wanted something a little bit more limited production. Breitling will always make the aerospace so to me that's nothing special. I like all the research and work put into the X33 as well. Anyone have any recommendations where I can pick one up at since you have to be in NASA/Military to get them new nowadays?

IMHO best to try and pick one up from a member of one of the watch enthusiast forums. That way you're more likely to get a used one that has been taken care of.

eBay isn't a bad option, so long as you are patient. Fortunately the X-33 is a watch that doesn't have many fakes running around, and the fakes are so easy to spot it's not really that big of a problem.

I bought my ball off watchuseek sales and most everybody there is legit. They run off riffraff pretty well when they do appear. Like other's said the 2nd Gen is more desired since the redesign of the crown/stem was fixed (some had a flaw that the crown would come loose; famous nasa video of a guy doing a repair of one in space somewhere). Also there is a forum recommended dealer for Omegas and he might be able to source a like new one if you want a mintish state of cosmetics. When it comes to Omega's I'd stay away from fleabay unless its a simultaneously listed item from a forum guy.

Just picked up my first Breitling. Went with the Chronomat B01. Careful, this can surely become an addictive/expensive Hobby.
