Wanna pilot job at Delta?

Well, can’t see the link, but Delta is developing a pathway for current employees, with an interest in being a pilot, to finish their flight training, get hours, and qualify as a pilot.

Interesting. Delta really likes to promote from within.

Which I guess is pretty nice honestly if you can get in anywhere.

So basically Delta will provide a loan if someone wants to take a leave of absence from their job, pay for all their pilot training, build 1500 hours, and come back?

They do the same for dispatchers. You go to DL's dispatch training and then become a dispatcher for them.

At least that's how I understand it.

I wonder how long you need to be with them in order to qualify for this? I would go sling bags again for a few months if they send you to flight school soon after lol.

Anyone able to shed more light on this?

Oh, there's a firestorm brewing. When the MEC chairman sends an email out less than 6 hours after it hit Deltanet, it's a big deal. The ironic thing is, they announce this during the TA roadshow process. As if the no side needed any more ammunition...

Correct me if wrong, and speak out of turn. While not a defined path to the Delta cockpit, like this program, or even a flow. You guys still have the DGI.

United has a program here in Phoenix, for instructors at a school here in the valley to skip the regionals and hire directly to UA after 1800 hrs is accrued.

Which is not contractual in any way shape or form. We aren't asking for a flow (while it would be nice), we just want some defined contractual career progression.

Yeah but still need to pay for your own ratings correct? Not that I am against that, just asking for clarification.

Yeah, but you still have to pay for your ratings with this program as well. Delta provides a loan, i.e. you have to pay it back. They're not footing the bill. So same is same, only you have to find your own lending with the UA program. Because the program is for instructors. Not a cradle to grave program.
