Update: UPS flight dispatchers are asking to be paid like counterparts at Delta, American

Its messed up how
you have to go throught all those hoops. You should really just be allowed to strike until you get the fair wges you deserve. If it brings UPS to its knees the so be it. They can ground ship for the time being or do ACMI shipping.

K4, 5Y, and all the rest better start combing through the boneyards now if ACMI-ing UPS' entire operation is on the table.

Are there enough aircraft IN the boneyards to cover UPS' fleet? More importantly, can they be made airworthy in time? They have 245 aircraft...

You guys DO know who's in office right now, right? Forget a strike. There ain't gonna be no strike. At the 11th hour the President will order the folks back to work and the dispatchers will go back to the table with binding arbitration in their back pockets.

UPS shutting down would cripple commerce. The Capitalist pigs on the Hill don't respond to much these days, but when big business is effected they seem to suddenly become very interested. Either way, stay tuned!

Ok, this is getting comical. The idea of pulling aircraft from the boneyards to run our operation has me in stitches this morning! Lol. Thanks guys :D

Well im sure fedex would love to get the extra boxes and they could maybe pick up the slack left by the grounding of ups air.
LMAO! You don't just make up for a fleet UPS' size by using spare planes. FedEx is busy enough I'm sure without trying to cover what I assume is around 220 lines of flying. All the other cargo carriers also have their planes previously committed. Not to mention the lack of crew required to cover all that extra flying. The idea of their flying being covered is quite laughable.

Meaning you should just be allowed to strike until you get what you want? What sort of society would this be if you threw a tantrum every time you didn’t get what you wanted.
A strike is nothing more than a tantrum.
We want more we want more!
As easy as you want it to be able to strike do you also want it that easy to be fired?
Actions have consequences!
Families need their paycheck but here you advocating a quicker strike so employees aren’t paid!

You are more than welcome to leave this Capitalist Evil Empire and look for work in Venezuela but I’m pretty sure you are all talk.
The irony is fighting for a contract = capitalism
Set wages determined by government = socialism. Which do you support again?

It's pretty funny the extremes you see things in. Either agree with you 100% or get branded a commie. You should change your screen name to CRJ 2.0

UPS doesn’t even have enough UPS planes to cover UPS’s volume. If there were any reasonable airworthy frames parked out there they’d have been painted brown by now.

I had the pleasure of experiencing the last “Brown out” as FDX employee. Three of the most miserable weeks of my life. The boxes never stopped coming. FDX made bank, but they suspended guarantees and at some points stopped taking lower priority packages. But they took a lot of loyal UPS customers. And never gave them back.
