Umm...ok...what\'s wrong with people...

Some may disagree, but isn't this a bit too much? Easy money these days...

I'm 5'9 and don't really complain... Any tall people here really have this problem?

Re: Umm...ok...what\'s wrong with people...

Well, I'm 6'7" and I can tell you that coach sure aint fun.... except if I get a window seat.....

Anyways, I can see why someone would come up with it. If I'm in a non-emergency row seat, pretty much the person in front of me can't recline at all because my knees are already against that person's seatback. And invariably most people try anyway. So someone turns around and asks me to move my knees. Yeah, right. Of course, usually however it is is so involved with trying to get me to move my knees that they don't notice the fact that the tops of my shoulders are about even with the top of the seat. Go figure.....

"Prevents the seat of the jackass passenger in front of you from reclining."

Haha! I love it

I'm 6' 5" so that would be great, I hate those damn inconsiderate seat recliners that jam the seat into my knees, then try and go a few inches farther than that

Re: Umm...ok...what\'s wrong with people...

I dunno if it's legal or not, but it'll certainly get you kicked off of some major airlines. More or less a passenger is taking it upon himself to 'modify' the product that the person in front of him paid for... or something like that, I can't remember the exact verbiage.

Re: Umm...ok...what\'s wrong with people...

Right, I see.

I was mostly curious whether it was a real annoyance for you taller guys.

Re: Umm...ok...what\'s wrong with people...

looks like a good way to bring out some air rage in the passenger in front of you. or in other words a good way to get your ass kicked.

Re: Umm...ok...what\'s wrong with people...

people who recline without seeing who is behind them are pretty lame. Im 6'4" and coach rots for me.

It's an annoyance, and a real pain. But I woudn't go so far as to buy a pair. Mainly I try to get the exit row. Also, I've gotten more than a few free upgrades to business when airlines have the space.

Not likely that they are going to turn around and start a fight with someone twice their size

I wouldn't buy em either but I would use them if the airline handed them out.

I've never gotten an upgrade, whats your secret?

Re: Umm...ok...what\'s wrong with people...

Ooh, I'll put some money on THAT bet!

Strange things happen on airplanes man!

Re: Umm...ok...what\'s wrong with people...

What happens when there's a fight on an airline? I bet they get in DEEEEEP trouble!

Ha ha, simple. Just throw the airplane into a steep climb, then an abrupt descent. That should settle the racket. Aaah, gotta love the Warner Bros. cartoons.

Thanks for the replies so far.

Re: Umm...ok...what\'s wrong with people...

That is by far the most passive aggressive, annoying, and wussy piece of crap I've ever seen
tongue.gif
... it even has a form letter you can give to the person in front of you; heaven forbid you might actually tell him/her yourself!

[ QUOTE ]
Maybe working togther we can convince the airlines to provide enough space between rows so that people can recline their seats without banging into other passengers

[/ QUOTE ]

Please. If you don't like it go first class or don't go at all (this is from someone who's never ridden first class).

Re: Umm...ok...what\'s wrong with people...

I think the classic problem is that people demand cheap tickets and huge amounts of space.

Generally, if you're part of a frequent flyer program, you'll usually be offered more 'premium seats' like bulkhead seating, exit rows, first class, etc.

But then people want to hop on Orbitz, look for the lowest price and then attempt to use things like the seat blocker because their $75 fare garnered them a 39B middle seat in the back of a 757.

I think what I'd do if I required a lot of space (I'm 5'8, I have the luxury of being portable), I'd build some loyalty with my hometown airline and stay the heck off of Orbitz chasing a $15 lower fare.

Re: Umm...ok...what\'s wrong with people...

I've always been told that the bulkhead seats are reserved for people with small children when I requested it.

I certainly can't afford first class.

95% of the people in front of me are nice and will lean their seat forward a bit if I ask them nicely, but sometimes you get the jerks who only care about themselves
