Umm...ok...what's wrong with people...

Re: Umm...ok...what\'s wrong with people...

First, I travel almost every week for work and go Am West - yes they're a craptacular airline but gotta love the unlimited upgrades to First Class

Second, when I do have to travel coach, I pull my laptop out and with the tray table down (duh, I know) position my laptop screen under the hook-thing where the tray table goes. It prevents the guy in front of me from reclining.

Diva, anyone?

Re: Umm...ok...what\'s wrong with people...

You may have paid for your seat, but the guy in front of you may have paid even more for his seat. And unless you are in the row ahead of the exit, you bought the right to recline your seat. Maybe on a short flight it wouldnt matter not to recline your seat, but i sure wouldnt want to fly all the way to Europe with my seat so upright the military would be proud.

Re: Umm...ok...what\'s wrong with people...

Well I am 5'11 and I never had a problem with it. I only lean my seat backwards when the airplane is almost empty and there is no one sitting behind me.

Re: Umm...ok...what\'s wrong with people...

Haven't flown much commercially since I started growing, but at 6'5" it was quite tight just with the seat hardly reclined in front of me in coach, for just a few hours!

Amen! Even in First Class I only recline my seat all the way if I am going to be sleeping...and even then it's my right cause it's my seat!

so then it's my right to protect my leg room, because it's MY leg room - I paid for it

Re: Umm...ok...what\'s wrong with people...

Can't we all just get along?

I generally fly in United's e-plus section, which means I get the leg room I want and don't have to deal with the issue of the seats reclining. I'm 5'10" but I know that even taller people don't have a problem with those e-plus seats.

Hell, man. I'll pay the $10-15 for the e-plus seats even if there's another airline that's cheaper. Big whoop. It's worth the extra money so that I have more legroom!

Re: Umm...ok...what\'s wrong with people...

Yeah, what's up with that?!

One of my Chinese students when I was a CFI was 6'6!

But aren't descendants of people from China known to be much taller than most other Asian people?
